What are your thoughts on the Kindle versus real books?

I have been trying to avoid it since it has been released, but now I am traveling, a hell of a lot more. Lugging around books for very long trips, takes up a lot of room in the suitcase. Foreign language books, are also kind of a rip-off, compared to just buying the foreign language book on the Kindle. I think I have to take the jump soon. Anyone that took the jump, what do you think?

I use a Kindle because I literally ran out of space in my house for more books. I like the Kindle a lot and it's not difficult to use once you get used to it. At this point I have about $5,000 or 6,000 books on Amazon, most of which I've read, but some of which I haven't and will always have a new book to read and I don't have to worry about it being delivered to my house in paper form.

I like getting on a 5- or 10-hour flight and having 1,400 books with me if I want. Or even 3, I wouldn't want the extra weight to carry around.

I like ebooks for research and reference because of the easy search function. For reading, though, I prefer paper books.
