I worked for an auto insurance company as a motor vehicle damage field adjuster/appraiser. So I got assignments every day to go assess damaged cars all over the place at homes, auto body shops and wrecking yards.

I loved working in the field because I met some interesting people and went to some interesting places. I saw parts of California that I would otherwise never have seen and discovered really cool things along the way.

But, aside from the field, I had to do a lot of paperwork in the office. For my last 10 years, I that I did at home.

Mainly office work and focused on strategic thought more than hands on transactional stuff these days. But I can also be found on a greenfield or brownfield site wandering through mud in boots with architects and construction execs hired to put up a million square foot facility.
