Do you personally consider yourself a real adult yet?

A part of me does because I have to pay bills and rent and work but the other part of me that hasn't quite gotten out of my teenage years in thinking still feels like a teenager or at least a girl in her early 20s.

I'm slowly starting to get there though now that I have a baby nephew and have to help out with him.

As hard as I might try, unfortunately yes.

It gets harder to deny it as time goes by and you're siblings/friends are passing 40.

Especially hits hard when young employees (people in their 20s) who themselves are technically adults, sometimes call you sir and act with deference...

Not entirely sure when the transition happened but at this point there is no going back.

I had to take on adult roles in life by the time I was 13. It is like that when you are abandoned and have to support yourself. You learn to grow up fast because you have no other choice. You either sink or swim.
