Do you prefer spending your lunch break at the office or outside?

I always hang out somewhere outside, or else it doesn’t feel like a proper break to me. What about you?

I get the outdoors thing. When I was in an office tower I skipped lunch most days and went to the gym in the office tower. I was never really hungry at lunchtime and just getting up and getting away from the phone/computer was a good mental break.

Getting away from the boss is also a pretty good mental break.😂

I like to take my lunch outside. I work at a resort type place so there is tons of wooded areas where I can get away from coworkers and guests for some peace and quite.

The problem is I only work during the summer months and goodness can it get hot where I live. It has been in the 90s most of the time. While I can find a nice shady spot, if the air is still it is miserably hot and I will eat inside.

Me too haha. The other day it was 96 at lunch with the "real feel" temp of 109 because of humidity. I walked out the lobby doors with my lunch in hand and turned right back around. No way.

Outside! Or at least off the unit! I have eaten plenty of lunches at a computer because I can’t leave.


But those days always feel like a drag. Having lunch somewhere else helps me to break up my shift and enjoy it more.

Outside for sure, the problem is, some jobsites are so large, you need a good 15 minutes to get out of them. 🫤

It depends on how the day is going and the weather. We have a nice treed courtyard with picnic tables at our office.
