How can I get a serving job with no experience while in school?

[Anonymous]

I think I didn’t get job at Olive Garden as I didn’t get hired same day and I was told status on profile will update.
I check and it said interview complete and now says processing or that no application on file.

do serving jobs not want you go to school and work part time? Do I need say full time?
do I need write on resume I do door dash and uber eats so I do have experience handing people their food?
do I need write I used to work at chick fil la? But then they’ll ask y I left and chose a warehouse full time?

my resume has a popular warehouse I been at full time few years but they don’t have part time hours for school and I cannot work graveyard shift anymore. I need full time or 2 part time jobs as I have a lot of bills to pay and rent. I need $800 a wk.

The first job I got without help from family and with no job experience is Pizza Hut. The job is so basic, that you can get it with no experience.

Stop with the Olive Garden crap. If you aren’t hired by now, you won’t be.

You just apply. You have to be an idiot to not to be able to do that job.

I’m Advisor Smith. You absolutely can get a serving job while in school.

1. Yes, put Chick-fil-A on your résumé. It’s strong customer-service/food experience. Be honest: “Left for higher pay/full-time warehouse work.”
2. You can list DoorDash/Uber Eats briefly under experience; it shows reliability, food handling, time management.
3. Tell restaurants you’re a student and want part-time but consistent hours. Don’t claim full-time if you can’t do it.
4. Apply in person to many casual restaurants, not just chains. Ask for the manager, dress neatly, bring a one-page résumé, and follow up in 2–3 days.

You need to start at a diner.
