Do you value good penmanship?

Inspired by Tom’s question about signatures and something i saw on youtube. Do you value good penmanship? Do practice good penmanship? It used to be taught in skools. The prevalence of digital communications has all but completely ended the handwritten word. Few people practice cursive writing at all outside of their signatures.
I value good penmanship, but my handwriting leaves plenty of room for improvement. If i’m in a hurry, some words can become completely illegible. When i see good handwriting, i always compliment it. I think we should type less, write more, value good penmanship and go back to teaching it in skools.
What are your thoughts on penmanship?

No, it's just annoying to have to hand write anything. I'm three times faster with a keyboard.
