I now make about $80,000

My dad knows a guy who got an MBA in his 50s and later managed a hedge fund with 200 managers working under him in China. The guy in his 60s or 70s decides to climb the Grand Canyon with his wife, they started from the bottom and spent 8-14 hours mountain climbing up hill in one day. I'm not even sure I can do more than 2 hours uphill and I'm in my 30s. I think that crazy work ethic is how he managed to earn so much money, my dad says the guy has a genius IQ but this guy isn't just smart, he also works very very hard.

My manager is a very passive person, and my coworker is dominant and extroverted. During every meeting, my coworker talks 90% of the time. Her contributions are valuable, but I cannot get a word in edgewise. Also, because she has such a competitive personality, I know if I say something, it will likely result in us butting heads.

My manager doesn’t seem to care. She just sits there and lets my coworker go on and on and on.. my coworker has talked over me, bossed me around, and belittled me in front of my manager and I am getting no support.

I just had a review and my manager said that I’m doing a great job and there’s nothing I can improve on. So I know she likes me as an employee. But I don’t understand why she doesn’t support me.
I’m wondering if she expects me to push back? But then our team dynamic will be a mess because my coworker will see it as a competition.

is it my responsibility to be more assertive with my coworker, or my managers?

Let’s assume for sake of this question your salary will be approx 130,000$ / year (that’s actually higher average of psychologist. Lawyers make slightly less on average than psychologists which was a surprise to me. Actors I know will make not much most often, tho or for a few lucky a TON more than 130K, so I’m just evening it out for the question)

To me, these professions altho holding very different functions in society, require overlapping traits tools & specific skill set. That is why I am grouping them together.

I started a new job two days ok. They have thrown me right in at the deep end. On my first day they kept leaving me alone to answer phone calls even though I didn’t know the protocol or script that is used. The two other women that were supposed to be in my department training me took their lunches at the same time and left me there. I then made a mistake with a customer & she one of the women had the cheek to pull me up on it. As if I was supposed to be a psychic and know all protocol without being trained.

In any other job I have been in, I have always been trained and eased into the job. Im feeling really overwhelmed now. It’s a great job so near to home & good pay but I feel like I am being took advantage of already. I turned down 3 other jobs because this one seemed great. The other two women just seem happy there is someone to dump the workload on.

What would you do? Stick it out, pull them up on it, or just walk away now? I feel coming into the busy period it will get worse.

I am writing a book with 365 pieces of advice and after 4 days, I’ve completed my list of pointers. I want to rest before I flesh my tips down into sentences and paragraphs.

This is the second time I got kicked out of a writers group for using too many big words and making uneducated people feel dumb. I've been kicked out of two groups so far for using big words. I don't use big words on this site but I've poised as educated doctors before by writing my own health profile and signing it with a doctors name, the professionals who read my profile did not know the difference.

My quit my job as a Cook cause of my manager and the work was overwhelming and too stressful. That now I’m looking for a easy job with good environment. Which of these jobs is good?

I work tonight and won't get home til after 10pm.

To get to school on time tomorrow I'd have to be out the door before 8:30am.

Do I stay up late and get it done before bed

Or get some sleep then wake up early to do it.

Okay so i heard of a news article of a woman leaving on time because her relief ain't there but that's not her problem. She quits at this time, relief or not. So made me think from a business stand point, is she just being a bitch and could lose her job? I know there are times that someone is late to the shift but knowing at one of my jobs, this girl was 3 HOURS LATE. Her response? "I'm so sorryyyyyy!" I was beyond seething and sick of the job already. So if someone decides to leave when they stop getting paid, are they putting a target on their back? Little thing that is just bouncing around my mind and need answers.

Or do you know anyone who thinks that way?
I just met parents who are trying to persuade their daughter not to work in science because it's a guy thing...

Like if a guy goes to an Ivy League, automatic romantic interest from me, if he goes to Waterloo, automatic respect, Queens, automatic friendship, U of T, automatic inclusion on social media. I live in Canada.
