Yes and no.

The concept is that of what is being produced at what cost.

If you are trying to be creative and inventive a rigorous standardized system, routine and back-breaking labour is not going to help.
Neither will our educational system that sucks most creative notions out of people.

Genius, creativity that is, operates best when it is unrestrained and exposed to new things.
Working functions best when it is a repetition of already mastered tasks within an already established and adhered to system.

This isn't that novel of a thought but does to some extent explain why things play out as they do.
