An ode to the Chanson Française

Anonymous

I've always had a deep love for French music - the language is beautiful and most songs are really nice! I'm sharing with you my small selection of songs for every mood you're in.

An ode to the Chanson Française

Je ne veux pas travailler - Edith Piaf

When you just couldn't care less about anything or anyone, and feel like loving yourself and anyone but youself.

Paroles, paroles - Dalida et Alain Delon

Until you meet a certain guy... But you're not going to let yourself fall for that sweet talker - and Dalida's Egyptian accent makes it even more dramatic!

Ne me laisse pas l'aimer - Brigitte Bardot

But your heart is struggling with your head - you're falling in love!

Quelqun m'a dit - Carla Bruni

And you finally decide you want him, but he's over you. So you try to convince him he's still in love with you.

Je t'aime... moi non plus - Serge Gainsbourg et Jane Birkin

...and he was! So you two are together and in love.

Bonnie and Clyde - Serge Gainsbourg et Brigitte Bardot

And you two are feeling like Bonnie and Clyde.

Et si tu n'existais pas - Joe Dassin

And you feel that without him, you wouldn't exist.

Capri c'est fini - Herve Villard

But the love story comes to an end. And you feel sad that it's all over.

Il venait d'avoir 18 ans - Dalida

And years later, you remember all those memories with nostalgia... and a smile.

La Claire Fontaine

And you know, that deep down, you'll always love him.

I wasn't planning on creating a small story, but the inspiration appeared while I was writing my take! I hope you liked it, and enjoyed the French songs - especially Serge Gainsbourg's.

Post below your favorite ones too!
