Gallipoli: The Scale of Our War Exhibition.

In 2015 the New Zealand's national museum Te Papa teamed up with Weta Workshop (who made props, weapons, armour, costumes and more for the Lord of The Rings Trilogy) to make this extraordinary, groundbreaking exhibit to show the story of the Gallipoli campaign in world war I.

The exhibition shows the story of eight ordinary New Zealanders with incredible life like sculptures which are 2.4× human scale.

The sculptures took 24,000 hours to make and countless hours were spent researching the history of the subjects.

The exhibition was supposed to only be around for 4 years but they extended it over and over because it's just that amazing.

It truly is amazing how much detail they were able to put into these. It's a surreal experience seeing this exhibition. I wish you all could experience it.

They died for imperialism and the interests of rich people. Just like those clowns in The Falklands, Iraq, Korea, Panama, Grenada, Libya, Ukraine, etc. War doesn't make you a man. It means you're a sucker with a cranial capacity smaller than your johnson.

Would love to see this exhibit. My great-uncle fought in Gallipoli with an Irish regiment. It was a sore moment for the Irish because we were also fighting for freedom at home in order to remove the Colonial British Empire from our lands.

My grandfather fought in gallipoli aswell in ottoman army.

Back when I lived in Wellington i would always walk down to the waterfront and visit Te Papa, their exhibits are awesome, and this was one of my favourites. I also really enjoyed their limited time Alice in wonderland exhibit that they had in 2020.

I'm sad I missed out on that one. I did go to the recent surrealist art exhibition though. That was pretty amazing

I have seen a video about this exhibit on youtube .
It was about how they build statues.
I know about war too. my grand grand father fought there in ottoman army I believe and where I live there are museums full of stuff about gallipoli because it happened here.
