Chapter 11
Indestructible Aura

Tetra fled Tyrannaaxx' invasion by stepping into the Dream World. She could do that. She was a Dream Walker, like Aria. One day, while travelling through the Dream World, Tetra stumbled upon something so amazing she could scarcely believe it. She found one of Jonathan Tanner's Shattered Soul Fragments, and she knew what it was and how to use it. Jonathan Tanner had been such a powerful mutant, if Tetra could collect all of the Fragments, she'd be even more powerful. She stretched out her considerable senses throughout the Dream World and began triangulating each of the Shattered Soul Fragments. One by One she'd find them all. She'd have her revenge against Malia and her do-gooder friends for the death of Gregory.

Malia and Team Gamma were all at a music festival in New Orleans when things started to get out of control. First the Band started missing entire verses of their own songs. Then they started playing music in reverse. Malia looked at her watch. The seconds began moving in reverse, then the minutes.

"You guys, are you getting this," Asked Malia.

"Yeah," Said Rayne. "It's like time is moving in reverse."

"Then why aren't we effected," Asked Kristen.

"Easy," Said Madeline. "I have my father's Shattered Soul Fragments. I can protect us."

Everyone looked overhead. A faint pink glow surrounded the Earth-Moon system. Everyone said in unison, "Tetra!"

Madeline phased out of sight just as Tetra appeared.

"Well, well," Said Tetra. "It's Malia and her idiot friends. This time, Cane Toad Venom won't work, girls."

"It's four against one," Said Aria. "We can stop you."

"Do your best, girl," Said Tetra. "I command the ultimate power in the Universe!"

"Not yet, you don't," Said Malia. "Let's get her."

Everyone attacked Tetra by any means they could manage. Temporal Phase Blades appeared in Tetra's hands. She moved faster than the speed of thought, and she effortlessly defeated all four Team Gamma members. Just as Tetra was about to kill them all, Madeline dragged them all into a space between timelines.

"There's still a way to beat her," Said Madeline.

"How? She just kicked out butts," Said Rayne.

"Everyone, combine your powers and give them to Malia," Said Madeline. "She's the strongest one."

"I can do that," Said Aria. "I'm a reality warper."

"I can do it too," Said Kristen.

"I'll try," Said Rayne.

"Here, Malia," Said Madeline. "Take my power and my Father's Shattered Soul Fragments. You'll need them."

Everyone gave their powers to Malia, and it worked too. The power of...everything...flowed into Malia. She could do anything, become anything. Nothing could stop her now, not even Tetra. Malia phased back to the original timeline and found Tetra waiting there for her.

"Back so soon, Malia," Asked Tetra. "You are nothing before me. I am Almighty."

"Wrong, Tetra," Said Malia. "There is only one The True Creator, and you are not it."

Both women were impossibly fast now. Tetra had the power of Time and Telekinesis, but Malia had the power of Everything. Malia wasn't afraid anymore. Every sword form Malia knew met every form Tetra knew. Unknown form met unknown form. Tetra created a gravitational vortex and sucked Malia into the heart of the Earth. She didn't know Malia would only grow stronger from the Neutron Radiation there. Malia came right back to the surface. Tetra tried erasing high-rise structures from the timeline, but Malia re-created them. Then Tetra tried fleeing directly into the Dream World. Malia matched frequencies and teleported into Tetra's Dream World. A forcefield surrounded Malia. The weight of a thousand mountains crushed her from every inch of her body. She teleported out of the forcefield. Now she was mist. Now she was shadow. Now she was a half-angel again. Tetra made it rain anti-matter and other exotic materials, but Malia deflected that with her Holy Shield. Then Tetra created a strangelet and hit Malia with it. Malia's life force was snuffed out totally.

In some other place between timelines, between one eternity and another eternity, the non-existence which once had been Malia willed itself to exist, and so she popped back into existence directly beside Tetra. The battle resumed. Tetra began absorbing the dreams and abilities of everyone in the Multiverse. Malia copied what Tetra did. Everyone, everywhere gave their dreams and powers to Malia willfully. Tetra fled to another reality, then another. After every possibility was exhausted, Malia finally landed a telling blow on Tetra. Her sword penetrated Tetra's black heart, and she absorbed the Shattered Soul Fragments from Tetra's mind and body. Then she flew back to the original timeline and threw Tetra into the Core of the Sun. Then she repaired the timeline and returned her powers to her four friends in the space between timelines. Madeline was most grateful to receive the last of Jonathan Tanner's Soul Fragments.

Tetra floated inside the core of the Sun at over 18 million Kelvin. Her diamond skin and bones melted in the insane heat here. Then she was vaporized. Then she was ionized. Finally, the atomic nuclei from her body were fused into heavier elements. Soon there was nothing left of Tetra except her eternally lost black soul. Tetra's Soul tried to escape the Core of the Sun, but it was no use. She swore she'd find a way out, but that day wouldn't come soon.
