Has anyone else ever suddenly stopped liking anime?

I used to love anime so much, actually it was a big part of what I lived for when I was sorta suicidal. But then I got over my depression and anxiety, and suddenly I didn't care for anime anymore. Its like having lots of friends replaced the thing I loved more than anything, yet I don't even have a best friend anymore. I wish I could love it as much as I did, and this summer I'm planning on trying to get back my passion (got crunchyroll, and gonna draw, use roseta stone Japanese & cosplay) But I dunno if I'll be able to get back to where I was. Like that was where I was going to go with in my career too, be a manga artist or animator... I know it sounds silly, but that was my dream and now that its dead, I'm sorta dead. I don't even know what I want to do with anything anymore. This happened to my older brother too, anybody else have this problem and maybe an explanation?

In a way. I used to watch it in Japanese quite often back in 2013-14, but then after the good animes/relatable ones were watched, the rest bored me or made me cringe to death, because I couldn't bear to her the peoples' voices anymore, or the show itself was mediocre. I understand.

I'm sorry to hear that, aside of your actual likes, it's something really sad when something/someone you really love just stops being the same, this means you got all you could get from that and it is time to have some kind of change or just moving forward, good luck on that.

when i was around 17, i stopped liking anime. I think people becoming obessed with it turned me off to it.

I'm 50... and I still love anime. I have one of the largest collections in the universe. :-)

maybe you've found your limit... who knows. it isn't a crime.

I used to read manga all the time and I binged watched 10 animes in a row in 2015 but now I watch one show a year and that's about it.
