Unfortunately the actual song is getting kind of lost in the storm of arguments surrounding it about political correctness. I'm not exactly a fan of Ariana Grande (not because I think she's a bad singer, just not really my style) but I don't think the angry reaction is fair. I doubt she literally wrote the lyrics intending the literal meaning of "the omnipotent being that created the universe is female", looking at the lyrics they're nothing to do with religion at all, I think it's more just a quirky line of lyrics about trying to be a good woman. No need for the controversy in my opinion.
