@Screamsgutter It's very interesting about this hate speech stuff, because I've run into this with a recent friend. This person expressed HURT at my not calling her back in less than a few hours. She said I wasn't careful of her "FEELINGS." I said, what does my returning a phone call have to do with your feelings? Some people return my calls in a day, Some in five, some in a week. None are trying to "hurt" me, or don't care about my feelings. People are BUSY!

This same person got offended that I would not do something with her that I wasn't interested in. She said she spent time with me when she wasn't interested in what I was doing! I was shocked! Who does this. Time is valuable! I don't just hang out with someone when I have something better to do.

This person invited me to a lecture. I said I'd have to find out if I was interested in the topic. She was OFFENDED! I told her my time was precious to me and I have specific goals for lectures. I'm interested in historic lectures, not just any old lectures. She also expressed disappointment when I didni't invite her to events I mentioned to her that I invited others to. She said, "Why didn't you ask me?"

Well, stupid, because I asked this person first and I wanted to attend that event with THEM not YOU.. I never SAID that, but it seems this person wants to inject herself into anything I want to share with particular friends who I've known for DECADES!! And who I want PRIVATE moments with.

So she has boundary issues. She doesn't know when to NOT invite herself and doesn't understand that everything is NOT about hurting her feelings!!! She missed something growing up, clearly!

So these snowflakes who are offended by everything for themselves AND for others... are strange. Keep away from them, as you state. They need more therapy and by better therapists!! Regards!

Gonna argue with this. Gaffigan talked about his wife having a brain tumor she recovered from and he made that shit laughable. Said he can no longer win an argument. She simply has to say, well you know, my BRAIN TUMOR... To me, that is brilliant. He makes near death of his loving wife and co writer funny. This actually humanizes the awful. @Screenwriter Sure, but I did say "unless he insists on it", which is what Im guessing happened here, probably his wife isn't taking it too hard, so he made it into an act. Plus, she is someone very close to him. What I was talking about was other people, whose attitude about it you dont know.

There are exceptions for everything, I know a guy who constantly makes inappropriate jokes about his own family, and generally has a fucked up sense of humor, but people who know him and who are close to him sometimes make a joke themselves, since they know there will be no harm

Lets set the record straight. Tex Antoine was not fired because he was drunk. He was fired because he made a rape joke on the air in 1976. Apparently during the 6 pm newscast, there was a story about an attempted rape of an 8-year old girl. Right after that story, they switched to weather. Tex Antoine said "with rape so predominant in the news lately, it is well to remember the words of Confucius: if rape is inevitable, lie back and enjoy it." He was never seen on air again on WABC. He resurfaced briefly on WNEW Channel 5 in 1978 and then retired.

Oh, come on... You haven't heard the "Little Johnny" jokes, the "Little Moron" jokes. Those were little kid jokes. Legless armlesss Little Johnny was first base... etc... The LIttle Moron was interchangeable with dumb Polacks or whatever ethnic minority someone felt the need to ridicule. There were dirty Italian jokes... meaning physically dirty, not sexually dirty... Jokes were about the fact that they were so poor they couldn't bathe... (these were jokes from the turn of the century that just got passed down... as children we didn't know who Polacks, Wops were or that legless armless children even existed..) The idea that a person could be first base was ridiculous, or that adults could be so dumb it took five of them to change a lightbulb.. or that someone was so dumb you could trick them into doing something even a child knew not to do... These jokes were all about making yourself feel superior to various minorities who were new to the country or to people who you thought were less than you. Not PC, but very human.
