I think this is probably the first console generation where I don't have an opinion about that. The only reason I'm so interested in video gaming this go round is that I want to see what these things are actually capable of.
Both consoles seem pretty solid from a technical standpoint. The PS5's shape is bizarre and quite large, but I don't dislike it. The Xbox has an industrial look that I feel more compelled by, but that I'm definitely not partial to. I felt the same way about last generation, but my selling point was the exclusives back then. I can safely say that neither console's exclusives have me sold. Which brings me to the part I find so interesting about the state of modern video games (and ultimately the reason I went with a Nintendo Switch last generation); the logistics.
We have reached a point in our technology and presentation abilities, where the file sizes and sheer amount of data processing power is mind boggling. To tell stories the way we want to tell them, games have become true technological achievements, but the result is that the games (and the hardware required to run them) have become absurd. You have to create a seamless experience. That means you need a great game, a processor that can present that great game, connector wires that can present that game quickly enough, hard drives that can shuffle data around fast enough for the processor, and internet speeds or disk sizes that can physically deliver the content to buyers.
The deciding factor for what console I buy this generation isn't going to be which console looks and performs better, or even which console has the better exclusives; it's going to be about which console can figure out the best solution to actually deliver my games to me.

I prefer the PS5 even though it's less powerful than the Series X, because it has better games, particularly exclusive Japanese ones.
I'm probably going to get both though. Halo and Gears of War are the really the only games I'm interested in the most for the Xbox.
I dont like the look of either. But i only ever used my ps2 and ps3 for GTA. It just didn't have many games i wanted. On xbox, i’d play racing games, baseball or dance games on the kinect. I stopped frequently gaming back in 2014 and the last system i bought was an xbox one. So now i’d play maybe one month a year if even that. Not worth buying a new one for one month a year. And i’d probably only buy a new PS if they bring out GtA6
For me would be ps5

Neither. Consoles have been GARBAGE since this current generation. (Yes, that includes the trash that is the Nintendo "Switch" and it's stupid AF name. A few great games on it, but the console itself is terrible.) I grew up with the NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, PS2, Xbox 360, and a ton of Nintendo handhelds, so I'm not even a longtime PC gamer. But the Xbone was trash and PS4 has nothing I would want on it, besides Spider-Man. So, last year, I made the jump over to PC and I'm not going back to consoles, even with PC's DRM crap and not owning physical copies of your games. None of those random letters and numbers even make sense. If you can understand that specs sheet, you might as well just be a PC gamer.
When both are out, play the same game! Put them next to each other! There won't be so much difference as people think. Plus! It's the exclusives games or any game that makes the console good, not the other way. If i have the chance to have it all! Of course i would have both and change the PS controller to the XBOX controller. Other wise! None of the will be as good as a good PC and no controller will ever beat the mouse + keyboard combo, i have played cross play, aim assist won't beat the mouse + keyboard. Not that much time left to see both in action and so far! Am not gonna buy any of them. Am not so excited for games beaing more expensive and i will only buy the games that can surly will be a great game, i can see a mediocer game before it's release, i have been a gamer since 1988 and i have seen to much, the only times i guessed wrong was ANTHEM.
I'm not sure yet. I don't usually buy new consoles right away. I typically wait until a year in or so. By then, they're worked out their issues with their red rings of death and their online services being hacked. They've got their exclusive games lined up, and usually have a price drop.
I'm leaning PS5, because the PS4 was my favorite console of this past generation, but I'll wait to see how things go before I commit to either one in the coming generation.neither... this video game race is too high value, low output for my liking... i dont wanna spend much money on games or stuff for that anymore...
i much more enjoy autoparts, they are way more fulfilling... and i accually did something and have footage or an example to show for the spent money and time...If i could afford both i would get both
But i NEVER can up to this point and playstation always has exclusive games i want
Xbox never does up to this point
So ps5 win by default no matter how silly this model looksXbox series x but that's because I haven't owned a playstation in a while.
Prob do ps5 I suppose. Which one is better for dancing games
I'm dieing with the PS5 as I have a PS4 so will transfer the account if possible
I'm always going to be an xbox gamer. I stand by Microsoft. But I have considered getting both this time.
I don't have either of them so I couldn't really say.
Need to ask my fiancée, she love videos games more than I do
