876 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. A couple years ago, I would've liked Idris Elba for the role, but his recent racist spats and behavior has really tarnished my opinion if him as a person. Plus he said himself he's too old for the role.
Fassbinder wouldn't be bad, but he already has a reputation of being the silver lining in mediocre movies. This trend could easily follow him into the Bond universe but I'd love to see it broken.
Tom Hardy is the "safe" pick. Everyone likes him, and he plays significantly different characters in almost everything he's in, so it's definitely within his ability.
In fact I wouldn't outright hate any of these choices. I'd also throw in Cillian Murphy as a possibility. Like with Fassbinder, it would be good to break him out of his usual typecasting, although he'd probably bring more to the table as a villain.21 Reply

Interesting question, i think Fassbender is a uniquely gifted actor capable of creating moments of nuaunce and believability;or delving deep into the character. However, Cilian Murphy would kill as James Bond. The lean muscular thing he had going on in Peaky blinders with work in 007 capacity

Considering pretty much every human on earth man or woman drools over Cavill I think making him JB is a sure way to restore the character to his former glory however I read an article once about why they won't do it.
It's because Cavill is too big already and known for other stuff, when people look at him a lot of them see Superman and bond needs to be just Bond, in the past all who took the role became big shots after the role not before it.
And for me personally considering Alba for the role is just insulting, while I would love a spy move starring him and I'm a huge fan of his recent works I just feel like changing bongs gendre or race because of "diversity" is just insulting to the audience's intelligence especially the hardcore fans who see the Bond universe as almost a real place and after 50 years it would be really wrong to do this. After all the actor may change but the character is the same within the universe and it would make a giant issue that no one would address and still pretend like all is fine which will break the lore of the franchise.
As for hardy I'm a big Hardy fan and think he doesn't get enough credit for his acting skills, the man could pull off DiCaprio level performances given the chance still I think he lacks a certain natural element Bond has.
So I chose other and in my head I think Tom Ellis would be perfect for the role.
He's got the looks, he's a fan favorite on the small screen but still hasn't made it too big on the sliver screen. He's proven he can look killer in a suit and can draw up emotions with his acting skills. Sure I'm not suggesting turning bond into the nonchalant player that is Lucifer but Bond himself pretty munch invented being a gentleman playboy all Ellis needs to do is pull off a slightly more serious tone and we can have one of the best bonds in some time.20 ReplyWhat? No middle-aged black women on here, you racist CIS white male?
Really, if it was 2012-2013, I would've said Idris Elba, but the world is now too woke and full of sh*tty leftists, so casting him now would be sheer tokenism from those folks. Plus, he's now too old at 48. It's a damn waste too, but Elba would've been a great Bond.
As of right now, no one. Just let the series die already before feminists utter decimate it like they did Star Wars.11 Reply- +1 y
Craig is 53 and yeah I hope not
+1 yI'd go with James Norton myself.
I think Tom Hiddleston is worth considering.
Typically, when a Bond is cast,, the actor is successful, but not successful enough they would be bigger than the franchise. (Probably rules our Fabsender and Hardy)
I'd imagine they would want someone young enough to do at least 2 films, maybe more. So I think they would want someone who is in their late thirties / early forties for obvious reasons
I think Caval is too Holywood.
Madden is an interesting contender. And Scottish.10 Reply- 1.1K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic.
+1 yI only know who Idris Elba is of this list, but I think he’d absolutely kill it as Bond. Smooth British dude who the ladies love, but also has a capacity to be intimidating with his bigger frame. I think the bigger issue is probably that James Bond as a character has been beaten to death, haha.

+1 yI think it's time for an American Bond! After all there have been two English Bat-men, a Superman, a Spiderman, Two Professor Xaviers and a very disappointing Non Scottish version of Nebula. Better Yet! Make him a Canadian Bond!

Well you've convinced me, French Bond it is! (Bond, Pepe Le Bond)
2.2K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. Well Cavill already appeared in SPECTRE. But for my money Idris Elba. I like most of those actors listed but what's most important is the cool 007 swagger. I think Idris Elba would be the most capable of delivering that based on the roles i've seen him in.
11 Reply823 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. Wow, good choices! Nicely done.
Any of these guys. They're all a bit different, but good.
I'd watch any/all of them. But I guess I would slightly prefer to see what Fassbender would do. I want them to lighten up just a touch, again, in the Sean Connery way. They've been taking themselves too seriously lately, the franchise.
I think Fassbender could do a wink and some wit very well.10 Reply
+1 yPersonally, it should be Idris.
can’t be Cavill or Fassbender really
Hardy is reasonable left field choice.14 Reply- +1 y

+1 yWell, we already know who the next 007 is.
As for the next James Bond. I would tend to want Cavill. But he might be too busy with DC now that he has solidified his role as Superman.
In that case Fassbender or Elba. Take your pick.10 Reply - 857 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic.

I VOTE G (MR. BEAN) 20 Reply I thought Lashana Lynch was confirmed the new 007? 🤔 I never watched the series but Fassbender's acting is one of my favorite. He looks sharp in a suit too!

Irish English Scottish way has being for years.
Tom Hardy for me I love Idris Elba but Bond is a scot so doesn’t need to be blacked up for some bs political agenda he should play a powerful black role instead

Henry is too Superman.
Tom Hardy is too Bane,
Irdris Elba flat out isn't a bond, Bond is a white character and we dont' need cultural appropriation in movies.10 Reply
+1 yRegé-Jean Page
10 ReplyOut of those you listed, Cavill and Hardy has the face to be Bond in my opinion, but i'm voting on Henry. Fassbender might also work.
All i know for sure is, they'll pick the least competent and compatible actor to be Bond.. so yeah...10 Reply

+1 yCavil is doing Witcher which is a Franchise that I prefer even though he would be a good bond ! Fassbender and Idris Elba are too old to be bond. Hardy is too rugged , and madden would be decent.

+1 yI think Cavill would be great, I thought of it the moment I saw "The Man From U. N. C. L. E." he can definitely pull off the look and the vibe we need from James Bond
20 ReplyNo one, Let the franchise end. It’s a relic of the 20th century and it won’t survive in this PC/lunatic environment. Second Ian Fleming is gone and it just isn’t the same.

+1 ywhat race is bond supposed to be.. what gender is bond supposed to be
noone ever really answered that
people just always assumed it was a white male, why i dk13 Reply- +1 y
Erm the name is James.
He is Scottish in 20the Century Scotland, that sort of nails it to white male.
Also Fleming said he based Bond on various commando types he met and his own brother, and others.
There is also a description of bond in couple books - +1 y
you also probably believe jesus was white, don't you
- +1 y
No, he came from an area that means he was as per current Middle East.
However, Scotland at the time of Fleming and Bond likely had more pink flamingos that black people lol.
If an author bases his character partially on his brother, intelligence agents and commandos during WW2, then there is like a 99.999999% chance it would be a male white bloke.
How many OSS agents operating in Europe during WW2 were black?
That's a tough one.
I'd say give it to Idris Elba or Richard Madden.10 Reply

10 ReplyShould be British, should sound posh as fuck, can't be repeated.

Actually...
I think it's time to cash in on the fact that hollywood is dying to wokeness to have an indu-brit based actor, all filmed by bollywood.
That would generate a shit ton of dough.
And have the character be a castist just for an easy character flaw, literally every bond is an alcoholic slut.
Of course it should be tested, it might be too much.
Or make him greedy, that could be easier to swallow.
Or an obnoxious self-righteous hypocrite.
Ideally it's a flaw women don't see as a no no in practice or claim in discourse, since it's mostly a sex symbol, but having one they are performative about it being a no-no just to add extra edge.
i think someone a bit more rough and ready not all spies need to be drop dead hansome he wasn't an option but i would like to see Jason Statham
