It's a toss up between Ross and Rachel.
Ross is all around a terrible father - absolutely brutally bad. You can make some allowances for him having a toxic mother and getting betrayed by his wife. But he treats the women in his life horribly. Alternates between putting them on a pedestal and smashing them down when they are not the perfect women he imagined them to be. I pity Ross, because he's smart enough to know better, but he's never going to stop chasing his imaginary version of the perfect girl.
Rachel on the other hand, is evil. Not in a "kill all the jews" hitler type evil. No basking in her own wickedness and schemes. Evil in the blandest sense of the word. She's just a horrible human being. She's the type of evil that you get from living a privileged life style, never caring about others because you've never had to, and you grew up in a house where no one ever did. She's inherited evil. Evil without the malice. Evil because she expects the world to cater for her every need, it always did when she was a child, so why wouldn't it now when she's a good looking grown up?
She is Americas Marie Antoinette. If you pointed out that a poor person didn't have the cash to buy food, she'd say "Well just put it on your credit card" or "Ask your Daddy for an increase in your allowance"
Ten years, her friends have had a chance to influence her. And they kind of did. A bit. But her father cutting her off probably did more in 5 minutes than 10 years with her friends.
Rachel will be evil until the die she dies, and she'll never even know it.
@ftewolde No it isn't.
I strongly disagree with what you've asserted about Ross
Firstly, Ross is a good father. He did have shortcomings, but there's a lot of good people are ignoring. Both times the mothers gave him a free pass to not be involved in his kids' lives and both times he decided without hesitation to be an active father. That's a big deal. I don't know where people get this idea that Ross was a neglectful father because its constantly shown that he makes his kids a high priority. It's true they're not in front and center of the show, but that has less to do with Ross's devotion as a father and more to do with the fact that Friends is a show focused on the friends and not on Ross's relationship with his kids. The reason Ben kind of disappears after season 7 was simply because the focus was on Ross and Rachel raising Emma. It had more to do with the focus of the plot than anything Ross did.
Second of all Ross has a lot of moments that exemplify that he's very capable of maturity and selflessness. There are plenty of times he goes above and beyond the call of duty to be a great guy to the women in his life. When he thinks Rachel is going to be "phased out" of the friends group he volunteers to phase himself out so Rachel doesn't have to. He also decided to miss the Discovery Channel shoot so that he can take care of her after she breaks her rib. That's a big freaking deal for Ross. The way Ross gave Phoebe a bike and taught her how to ride was super sweet. He also forgave Carol (his ex wife who lied to him about being a lesbian, cheated on him, and left him for another woman) so much so that he walked down the aisle for her marriage with Susan. That takes a lot of character most people simply do not have.
I could go on with more examples, but you get my point. There absolutely are times when Ross is an immature jerk, but there also plenty of times he's very mature and very selfless/giving. Ross's haters just ignore all the good stuff Ross does and hyperfocus on the bad. You could make anyone look like the biggest jerk on earth by doing that.
They are all pretty bad if you think about it for 2 minutes but Rachel takes the cake as The Worst! Just about all of her story lines are about her manipulating everyone around her so ineptly that she gets caught, makes a half ass apology mixed with an insult then... fade out. As for the rest:
Phoebe is a borderline sociopath. Spent years homeless and admits to killing a guy whilst on the streets.
Monica is a Control Freak with O. C. D.
Chandler is a complete Commitment-phobe/Homophobe thanks to his parents.
Joey should be in Jail for his treatment of women. First time he meets Monica he strips naked to "impress" her.
Ross is a HORRIBLE father! Ben shows up in handful of episodes only to reinforce that fact. It's hard to tell if he legit hates Lesbians or just hates his Ex-wife, but given the Barbie episode he must lean towards hating them.
I could go on but I don't plan on writing a MyTake today. The only thing I'll add in closing is...
The worst friends character is Ross, but I also hate Rachel too. Ross is the worst because he's literally a man child who always needs to be right, that whole we were on a break saga he was so annoying, sleeping with someone two hours after a break up is so uncalled for he threw his one year relationship with Rachel down the drain, he thinks he's wayy better than he actually is. For instance, when Rachel was walking around naked and he thought she wanted to sleep with him. I also don't like how he couldn't own up to the things he did like when got high, he could have just told his parents it was him. I hate Ross he is a terrible human being. Rachel would say she didn't want Ross, but would always ruin his relationships like with Julie and Bonnie. Like if she really didn't want Ross why the hell would she ruin their relationship? In the first three seasons she was selfish but changed through the seasons, she had that all about her attitude basically. She took Monica for granted. Thats why Ross and Rachel are perfect for each other they're both terrible people. I just don't like Monica a little bit because she is so nit picky about the littlest things. The only three characters in the show I like are Phoebe, Joey, and Chandler.
Ross can be an immature jerk, but to paint him simply as that without any nuance is to ignore all of Ross's good points and hyperfocus on his bad points. Ross has a lot of moments that exemplify that he's very capable of maturity and selflessness. When he thinks Rachel is going to be "phased out" of the friends group he volunteers to phase himself out so Rachel doesn't have to. Well, Friends is mainly a comedy and to me Rachel brought the least comedic act. Too much drama instead. She was also the most normal, and boring in this sense. I still love her though, just all relative to the rest of the characters :D

Ross is a great guy and his haters are extremely unfair in their judgement of him.
Ross gets a lot of hate, but I think that's because Ross's haters typically zoom in on his bad points and ignore his good points. Firstly, Ross is a good father. He did have shortcomings, but there's a lot of good people are ignoring. Firstly, both times the mothers gave him a free pass to not be involved in his kids' lives and both times he decided without hesitation to be an active father. That's a big deal. Rachel Green. Because she's been rich and pampered her entire life and until she had the falling out of sorts wirh her family and fell in the "friends" group she had no idea what work was. And she screws up the most menial jobs... but that's ok because she's attractive. That's her get out of jail free card.
Despite all that she doesn't seem to be a mean person. And that's why you're still able to not completely hate her character. But they ages of their characters are 25 to 35 so they're young and immature. I think if the show had continued on into her 40's you'd see it fall apart. And some point her act ceases to be cute.
"FRIENDS" is literally the most insufferable, lamest show to ever be on television in the last thirty years and I can't see anyone liking it who isn't a Basic Bitch white-bread, boring-as-hell human being. They all seem bad to me. At least the 2000's version of it, How I Met Your Mother, tried to be slightly less lame and unrealistic.
"Worst"? I'll just vote for the one that I probably was the least involved in. I loved all the characters... they were all hilarious. Phoebe is the one who kind of seemed the most removed from the group and the biggest outsider. She was very funny. If they had a character that was featured less and who was absent the most I would have wanted less Phoebe as opposed to the others. She was the least relatable because she was so zany.
Joey and Chandler were my favorites.
Phoebe probably, the episode where she took someone's cat cause she thought it was her mom's spirit. I get that she's in pain and possibly denail but literally keeping someone else's pet when they're probably worried sick searching for it.
Also the episode where she basically keeps shaming Ross during the evolution theory argument.
Ross and Rachel also did some pretty messed up stuff too.
Joey was the golden one of the group, best one ever.
Ross, then Chandler. At least the girls were all easy to look at.
Never liked the show at all, though. I think I saw 3 episodes all the way through; that was all I could stand.
Almost as bad as "Everybody Loves Raymond"; both were inexplicably high in the ratings.
Just curious, not judging but how come you don't like Chandler?
I think it's just the new york thing
@patriots123123 He wasn't annoying like Ross but was bland and boring. Like the show itself.
I don't know about worst, but the best for me was Monica, and she wasn't that loud... lol
I never watched in earnest, but from what I’ve seen, Ross is a fuckin’ jabroni, or it might just be David Schwimmer in general. “Myeeeeehhhhh”
https://www.youtube.com/embed/Igdxgtp5w70For me its Ross. His whining and indecisiveness is annoying.
I guess monica
If I remember right, she is a loud woman
I have a one brazilian friend who watches this series only for Jennifer Aniston (Rachel) lol
Rachel. Pompous, stuck up and thinks she should get special treat just cos she is pretty. Also spoiled and thinks she is always right
Lets not forget the whole "one rule for me another for ross"
can't really call it worst but a little less nice i would say... n to me its Rachel coz she was too self centered
They are all a bunch of pretentious phonies. I don’t know why anyone ever watched that show.
✌️✌️totally agree
Ross is annoying as hell. He's petty and corrects people on stupid things. He's immature and like a kid in relationships.
I never like David Schwimmer's character, Ross, and Schwimmer himself.
i was expecting this to be 100% Ross. His whining is on another level that has never and will never be matched by anyone again. They all have their own flaws though, but y'all crazy if you vote for anyone other than that annoying human.
I'm still picking Rachel over Ross. She was way too manipulative
Rachel by far. Selfish, boring and a complete bitch.
Yes I agree
All of them. The A Team. Now that was an entertaining TV show.
Without question it's Rachel as she is the one who most often displays a desire for the people she claims are her friends to suffer. Ross is number two for that reason.
I disliked Monica. She was annoyingly unfunny. Ross was a jerk too.
