This scene of watchmen always gives me chills!
What film has given you chills when you watched it?
This scene of watchmen always gives me chills!
An inconvenient Truth, and the chills didn't go away when the movie ended, because this movie never ends.
That is the thing about documentaries, is that you don't have to suspend your disbelief the way you do with a work of fiction, because this is a real life horror story unfolding around us, and it's a horror story of our own making.
There was a big push in the 70's, for renewable energy sources in the homesteads, and R@D, but Big Utilities didn't like that, because clean energy isn't putting money in thier pockets, and foul smelling petroleum was, so, windmills, solar cells, geothermal, and new energy conservation technologies, were attacked, vilified, regulated, and taxed and fined into extinction. I still can't wrap my brain around the logic of "hydrocarbons are safe, and windmills destroy the environment," as wind, solar, geothermal energy being bad for the environment and energy-efficient devices for the home is somehow destroying the ozone layer, not hairspray or Styrofoam, but it's a logic that people and believed, and those people wee the majority, so that scares me, and compels me to distribute free crash helmets to every one of those people who are that stupid, because they cannot be allowed to be unsupervised, or they will get into trouble.
I think many have but ones that were a more excited chills than fearful, a handful would be
Ghostbusters
Bill and ted
Ready player one
Ready player one is so awesome π didn't think I'd like it as much as I do. I might watch it again rn π
Oh yeah! I love focusing on new things every time I watch it. So much happens in that movie which makes it perfect for this kinda stuff! Plus I really love sci-fi movies. Especially ones about utopias and dystopias
π oh sorry that wasn't me, I don't choose mho anymore
I was watching a movie called same kind of different as me and I liked it cause the mentally ill man seemed so simple and innocent, also in the Green Mile, I though John Coffee was a really sweet and innocent man and in sleepers, I thought it was really surreal when the priest lied under oath to help his favourite boys get their legal case resolved.
Ahh, green mile! I should watch that again now that I'm older and can understand what happened better
At the time I didn't think much of it, not bad I've seen worst. The reason I chose this movie looking back it does give me chills & really makes me think with this pandemic just my opinion βοΈ
I recently rewatched that rapture scene and man if that happened irl, I'd be freaked! I'm not a Christian anymore but would definitely love to see a really high budget film of the rapture happening and the effects of it. But not in a Hollywood way. Like a way true to how religious people believe it will be.
Yes exactly great question βοΈ
thanks!

I usually don't like Zack Snyder very much but Watchmen really gave me strange vibes (which I like) and especially that scene and others involving Dr. Manhattan. Has a dreamy quality to it for me that kind of reverberates in my brain.
One that gave me a similar feeling was Beyond the Black Rainbow. The film was kind of boring to me but certain scenes like this had that effect on me:
Also Primal -- the entire series -- although especially the episode featuring the infected zombie dinosaur:

Oh and Possessor (the entire film -- one of my favorites since I haven't been made so uncomfortable by a film in a long time):

Naked (1993) with David Thewlis. The whole film is quite bleak:

>> Intelligent, educated and eloquent, Johnny is also deeply embittered and egotistical. He tends to dominate conversations with his aggressive intellectualism and theories about modern culture. His tactics are based on a particular form of intellectual bullying, directed at strangers and intimate partners alike, and summed up in domineering, scholastic barrages drawn from eclectic sources. His overall behaviour is reckless, self-destructive, and at times borderline sadistic, and shows a penchant for aggressive sexual domination at least twice throughout the film.
what did you think of snydercut?
Far, far, far, superior to Whedon fuck-up. My favorite Snyder though is Watchmen by far. I don't like Sucker Punch, 300, Batman v. Superman, Man of Steel, Aquaman, etc, all that much. I'm usually not a Snyder fan. Something about his films seems so visually rich but devoid of relatability to me, except when he goes really nihilistic. And I think Watchmen had nihilism in spades -- especially in Dr. Manhattan's character. If I want a director that wants me to lose all faith and hope in humanity, Snyder is pretty good at that. If I want a director that wants me to relate to humanity, he's the worst for me.
I'd probably recommend arrival over anything else..

You've got good taste! Edge of Tomorrow & Man of Steel are among some of my favorite movies
I definitely recommend these:
I Am Mother (2019)
Upgrade (2018)
Spectral (2016)
Ex Machina (2015)
Oblivion (2013)
Looper (2012)
Moon (2009)
I liked the reverse flash character played by Tom Cavignah or whatever the right spelling is I watched the first season like 5 times bc of his portrayal of the character.
From there the show has stooped low, but I still watch it there are some episodes that are good but others just boring some even doesnot really make sense at all 😂
Maybe we should run it through picture match? Just one of the bags
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🥲🥲
π Dang that is a lot of cords, what do you use those for?
Music.
Thatβs just 1 bag
Ahh, most of my cords are for music too π
What do you play ( instrument)
I play guitar.
Piano, but I use keyboard and virtual instruments and effects so not many cords needed :')
I have many keys too
I also use Reason
I think my favorite cord is the 1/4 aux one. I have one on a pair of headphones I own and every time I plug it in, it feels like I'm actually doing something important π
Endgame, cuz its was 1st day, 1st show and the whole theatre was hyped, I've never seen people shouting in a theatre lol other than that.
You like dc any?
oh no u didn't π
two scenes comes to my mind
