Blank expression and the saturated color work better to me as a contrast between something resembling your humanity and what's taking over.

  The second one definitely blends better. But I don't like the peaceful host already in such a symbiotic state with the parasite. I like the one that communicates something taking over while you can't help it which I think A does much better. It might be less aesthetic but I think the message is more interesting.
