Marc Brown, the cartoon’s creator, is from my area, and he came to my elementary school when Arthur was first big. He had a big easel and a giant sketch pad and he just showed us how he drew Arthur, and I think I remember we created a fictional animal by calling out different animal body parts and he would illustrate what we envisioned. I don’t think I watched it much, I was more into He-Man and G. I. Joe at that time, I think. End of an era, either way.
Holy crap, we live in the same area.
@UncleJessieRabbit haha, nice. But on further review, I guess he’s lived here in MA for a while, but is technically FROM Erie, PA. So if you’re from Mass, yes, but if you’re from PA, no, haha.
I was 33 when Arthur debuted. I didn't even know he was an aardvark until yesterday.
While I never watched the show, I did notice that they had characters who obviously were of different races and I thought that was good.
However, I am a Blues Clues man. Give me Steve, Joe, Blue, etc before Arthur anyday.
Aw really? That's sad. Well kinda. Kinda weird it's still on tbh. Then to have gay people on there I was like wow I bet those religious people who watch this channel hate that shit. Lol
My kids loved watching this. We still sing the theme song when ever someone says hey
That's awesome lol

Arthur and the Teletubbies were the only kids tv shows I ever watched after 18, I have no idea why they would delete such an amazing program on tv.
I will miss Buster the most.
My grown son was a big fan.
I watched on occasion.
It was a pretty good 'toon.
1000% better than Barney and Friends.
Ugh.
I liked Spongebob and Elmo, also.
Really? Damn that was my show back in the 2000s!
It was kind of weird for a kids show. A kids show that made references to adult shows like South Park and Beavis & Butthead! Lol
I loved it.
Dam I never knew Arthur was still running. Fucking love this show and the theme song though. Sad that it’s ending, Arthur will never be replaced.
The guy that invented Arthur lived near me. When my kids were little he used to read read to the kids at the library dressed up like a giant aardvrk.
Wow really, I used to watch this show as a child and honestly, I have already thought it stopped airing on tv years ago who knew it was still on pbs till this day.
I was a little too old. Loony toons for me! As my dear friend and confidant "Mr. Leghorn", used to say, "Tha- I say, that Dog is strickly G. I., "gibberin idiot that is!
That’s a shame. Really great children’s programming
Wow they’re canceling Arthur? I used to watch it when I was younger. It was good and it would always be on after Looney Tunes (one of my favorites).
@MudRucker how?
Why are they canceling it?
Long run
Who didn't grow up watching it.
It sucks after all these years they're canceling it.
I love this show! The last few seasons weren’t as good but it’ll still be missed.
I loved Arthur, it was my favorite show and I still enjoy it.
As a poor kid, I loved it. But I don't feel anything for it being cancelled. It had a good run.
Is it cancelled due to wokeness or ended naturally?
Naturally, it's been running for many years
Ahhhh so it's good, ended, not cancelled
YES! I loved Arther growing up! Thats a shame its being canceled
I watched it when I was a kid but I really hated D. W, she was very annoying.
Can’t beleive it. It’s all the kids talk about. Will Arthur learn his his true identity, sleep with the queen of dragons and inherit the throne?
I wish PBS would get canceled. They just indoctrinate the children. That is why all the 30 and unders here are so stupid.
That sucks, I grew up with that show
I was when I was younger I watched it but it jumped the shark years ago.
I liked it. I remember watching it on BBC 1 during the kids' programming block.
Simples...
Whats the reason for this now?
Long run
@smahala1991 use to watch it long ago. Lost interest..
Yes. I loved watching Arthur, even as an adult.
It lived a good life. Every show has its time.
You know, it's funny, though- I actually remember when it debuted. I think I watched the very first episode.
My eldest son liked it
Never a fan and hardly saw it on
I was a fan.
Yes. I love it
One of my favorite shows from my childhood
Id never let my kids watch that crap.
@doopayo its hard to explain but ill tell you this way. Id Much rather them watch Fist Full of Dollars, Shakespeare, nature documentaries or a Symphony. I dont really plan on my kida watching any "childrens programing" all the character are so wishy washy and lame. Always getting their feelings hurt and struggling to adult, LAME!
Very sad...
Yes. I have.
Never saw it. Only saw memes about it
Never watched it
It’s still on?
Yes, even I was unaware that they still had new episodes
Think God...
Nope
Does it say why
