What cartoons would you like to see renewed to have more adult themes? To pander to the kids who are now adults?

Some shows that come to mind for me are Pokemon, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Powerpuff Girls, Invader Zim, Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, Danny Phantom, Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.

If anyone watched the newer Samurai Jack season it'd be basically that. A kid's show with darker/more adult themes. Some of the ones I mentioned were already pretty dark like Courage 😆

Yugioh, i started writing a paragraph about why and what's wrong with yugioh aiming at kids rather than teens than adults. But then i realised, i would need to make about 6 paragraphs and thought nah lol.

Zoids, Now Zoids wild is actually pretty damn good and i wish for more. But would be nice to give Zoids a more Gundam blood orphans new anime which would very much for mature audiences.

Powerpuff oh for sure, dunno if you ever read the comics though one of them actually had tons of blood in it and kinda mature for some odd reason. Would love to see it more like that.

Teen titans, tbf I am one of those rare fans of the new kids version of teen titans though people really hate it shrugs.

Batman what i am talking about here is... bring back The Batman. By far the best cartoon ever to be created and was super dark. I know there is a lot of other batman things that are dark and animated. But it is a bit of distinction that there animated not really a cartoon. Just need this back.

And just like how Batman and Spider-man are just copies when you stop to think about it. The MTV Spider-man I need this to be brought back 100%. If you want a spider-man that play's on the dark stuff like how the 1st and 2nd original films did with green goblin and doc oct been great depressing and dark villains.
This series takes that and tops it. Need it back so badly.

Star wars. I am not a massive fan of star wars since it usually holds back by been too kid friendly don't even get me started on how much bad mandalorian has actually done and is way too much for kids. Nvm han solo story film... In the books he literally has sex with a female wookie.
Now i am not saying we really need that part but the point is that screams this is adult but now go watch that film does any point of that film make you think ah yep this was made for adults or does it more watch like family friendly film.
Tbf i am a big fan of star wars but just when it's actually done right which is super rare. Just give me a force unleashed anime and make it cannon and say the whole last skywalker thing didn't happen.

Blues Clues...

Periwinkle is now a very horny 20-something who begs to have a 3-way with Magenta and Blue. Blue shuts him down gently telling him that she is a lesbian which should have been obvious since Blue's Room.

Sadly, the Spice Family is a mess...
Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper have marital issues. She was caught in the pantry having an affair with Signor Oregano. Distraught, Mr. Salt sought spiritual advice but ends up falling for a nun, Sister Rosemary. Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper decide to divorce. Divorced, she reverts back to using her maiden name Capsaicin and goes to Italy to live with Signor Oregano. The Spice family, now broken, has eldest daughter Paprika takes her twin siblings Sage and Ginger to live with Grandma Cayenne. However, their second child, Cinnamon, who's always had issues with his name decides to be a "trans-spicer". He starts living with Tickety-Tok and renames himself as "Thyme". Things between Signor Oregano and Ms. Capsaicin (the former Mrs. Pepper) don't work out. He was cheating on her with Olive Oil. Ms. Capsaicin leaves Italy for England and meets Basil. They get married and she has 2 children with him: Clove and Nutmeg.

Green Puppy and Slippery Soap... I'm not sure how to put this... Green Puppy would get dirty a lot and, now older, she's discovered that she loves washing "down there" with Slippery. A little too much, I think.

Shovel and Pail sadly died by drowning. The beach they were living on went underwater due to global warming.

Mailbox committed suicide out of extreme loneliness. The snail mail letters from our friends stopped coming; the friends now only sent emails with video attachments.

However, the Blues Clues neighborhood did become more diverse!
The Hispanic Queso family and Japanese Sushi family are now new neighbors with their homes located on Food Court.

The Pirates of Dark Water. It was before my time (though I watched tapes later on), but it was a Hanna-Barbera (who owns them now, anyway?) show about an alternate world being slowly devoured by semi-sentient, evil black ooze that floated atop the ocean, and looked much like it from a distance. It would consume sailors, fish, boats, ships, and even land, given time, so ultimately nowhere was safe. The main character was a young man (who never blinked, but I think that was mostly just the animation) who searched for the thirteen Treasures of Rule, which would give a person control over the Dark Water, so naturally, quite a few others sought them as well. It was well-made with high production values, but that made it very expensive, and it got canceled after 21 episodes, with only half of the treasures found.

It was a kids' show, and no mistake, but the idea of a world slowly sliding towards the brink of destruction, ruled largely by treachery, despair, and greed, with the few surviving decent places being isolationist and distrustful of outsiders, could easily be adapted to a darker, more adult tone. Plus, it'd be nice to find out how the story actually ends. You'd have to be careful, though, lest it turn into another generic environmentalist rant (which has its place, but this isn't Captain Planet).

Personally my favorite shows were Ed edd n eddy, kids next door, courage, Johnny bravo, etc.

I think Johnny bravo and Ed edd n eddy could of possibly handled more important topics about life and growing up with a twist of humor

Nothing will be able to be adult enough to give me my dark drama fix like Berserk did. But of the ones you listed definitely Invader Zim! Can we also count Animes? I guess you did list pokemon. Yes an adult pokemon would be BRUTAL. an adult Ed, Edd, and Eddy could be hilarious but I feel like 2/3 would be stoners and we already have Jay and Silent Bob doing that right. I'd also add Zoids to that list. That anime had so much potential to be more than it was if it was adult themed.

At the end of his rope, a shriveled up shell of a man that is Ash tries to make tomato soup for dinner and fucks it up, making tomato sauce instead. It was delicious, and went with everything! That's how he became Ash Ketchup and this is his redemption story. Now he must battle the corporation's that wish to steal his product and push him out of the market instead of Pokemon trainers and gym leaders. Are you ready? Because he's bringing Ketchup 2all!

I definitely wouldn't mind if there was a Ed Edd N Eddy adult version set in either college or when they have their own lives and possibly their own children. Especially considering the creator of the show tend to actually create adult shows anyway.

Another show I definitely wouldn't mind having an adult version would be Fairy Odd Parents, I can imagine how many sex wishes Timmy could come up with. 😂
