+1 ySure do! The last couple I read were sort of reference books about The Beatles, listing all of the stuff they did from the time they were born up until about 20 years ago (when the books were written). Another one was a big list of what the author though were the best psychedelic albums ever made. In some cases, I disagree. And I know of other psych albums that are WAY better than some of his choices! (It seems, to me, that, these days, a LOT of people have NO idea what genre the music is that they're talking about! Last night, I saw a video of some guy who claims Devo is the best PUNK band in the world! Problem is, Devo are NOT punk!! They are new wave!! There's a difference!! It's like how people keep trying to tell me that the Dreadful Great are a great psych band! They're country rock, at best!! Okay, they DO have about a dozen psych tracks but, as for the rest, if you take enough acid, even Lawrence Welk was a great psych artist!!)
If you're looking for a good story-type book, the last one I read was, "The Real Animal House" by Chris Miller. I think he's the best writer I've ever read! He has a way of describing things to you without actually describing them to you! The movie, "Animal House" was based on his experiences in Dartmouth back in the early `60's. In the movie (although Chris actually appears in a few scenes in the movie), the character portraying him in the movie is, Pinto. In the book, which he only just released about 10 or 15 years ago, he tells the whole story as it happened, not like how it is in the movie. It's a very funny book! Caution for some younger readers: there IS a little debauchery and sex in the book but, not quite as much as the movie.
Otherwise, most of the books I get are reference style books, The Beatles Anthology, I just read one on the history of Monty Python, another on the Mad Magazine, another on the T. V. show, "The Prisoner" (best t.. v. show ever made!!), the history of Warner Brothers cartoons, there was a book by Penn & Teller that also doubles as a magic trick or two, "The Road To Woodstock" is all about how the world famous concert of 1969 came about and what they went through to put it on, etc..
There's also a few books I helped write! They're mostly reference books but, the one was actually a biography that I helped put together. It's about the life of Dickie Goodman.10 Reply

+1 yI would recommend the song of Achilles by Madeleine Miller. It's a combination of romance, fantasy and historical fiction.
Set during the Greek Heroic Age, it is an adaptation of Homer's Iliad as told from the perspective of Patroclus. The novel follows Patroclus' relationship with Achilles, from their initial meeting to their exploits during the Trojan War10 Reply

The summoners trilogy (A. M. Yates) is an exciting light hearted adventure.
Middlegame (Seanan McGuire) is an adventure - a bit dark.
Claiming the Prince (Cora Avery) is a romance, a tiny bit dark.
And The Scholomance series (Naomi Novik) is a good one. Kind of dark, too, though.
Oh, I suppose the Iron Druid series (Kevin Hearne) is definitely worth mentioning.20 Reply- 2.7K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic.
+1 yI like Will Smiths Autobiography, And the Greek Sages from the past. Also Grit by Angela Duckworth and the Blessing of a B minus. Sacred Therapy is good too. Unfortunately, some of these books are very expensive because they are so incredibly good but most are available at the library.

+1 yAbsolutely! I would highly recommend "Catcher in the Rye," and definitely read it in your teens; it's highly relatable. I would also recommend "Unlikely Warrior" by Georg Rauch (a WWII autobiography about a Jewish soldier in the German army), and of course J. R. R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit." Also, by any chance have you read Dune? I'm really curious to check it out!
