Most animals have radically different nervous system and auditory senses from our own. As such they likely experience music completely differently than us.
Music is also very much a cultural thing for humans, most animals lack the cognitive ability to understand the cultural significance of music so most would just experience music as ordinary background noise.

Maybe unrelated, but I always had our cat prick up his ears, when I played Blizzard games and selected certain units. I remember reading about some Zerg unit sounds that were composed/created with bird sounds. The cat certainly noticed! :-D
I have tried it once but it didn’t really seem to affect them... however I play my own music pretty loudly throughout the house sometimes on my stereo, and I’m not sure if they hate it or not.. I hope not, I wouldn’t want to make them uncomfortable
haha awww that's cute :) Lol no since I don't have a pet (yet). Someday when I become a fur mama :) What kind of dog is that?

You mean like cats doing Bohemian Catsody.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/pXezLv_5RaYYeah definitely! I once played a playlist on Spotify specifically made for cats. He was looking at the phone with wide dark eyes, like in a trance. I played that playlist many times since then.
My cat is with me at that time, and that is enough.friends of mine were woken up to Metallica on volume 11 at 3am the other week.
it appears their cat found remote for their music system and turned it on.
remote now put away at night. LolI tried a couple times a few years ago. She really didn’t seem to care. I will play my own or classical usually and she really seems indifferent.
However she does like when I turn on the tv. She loves to listen to tv shows or movies, sometimes she will even watch the screen too.I used to play Yiruma pieces for my rabbits. They loved it. The pups near my home seem to love everything because whenever I would play piano in high volume they will sing along. They love Alan Walker too like me I guess.
All I noticed is that our dogs like lively music they can sing (bark), dance (twirl & jump) along with me to and they like instrumentals they can fall asleep to. The cats and the others don't care.
Yes. They have their own playlist when left alone. When the first song starts they all go to their positions and throw themselves down. “Mum’s going out again.” *sigh*
So smart. We will play the barking dogs for our Maltese the jingle bell barking dogs LOL
Nope I’ve never tried this. I’ve heard of people doing this for babies, but I didn’t know it’s good for animals also.
I play them Rachmaninov.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/yQw3DvqEbxIThe only music my cat for some reason loves to hear is anything from The BeeGees. I don't know why my cat is something else.
Ny dog, yes. However, my gecko seems to like metal lol
I used to sing to them. They seemed to like it but maybe they were just in it for the 3 squares a day.
