There's a point in All Dogs Go To Heaven where Charlie finds himself sucked into a tornado, flung around and then dropped into a boat made of bones floating on a lake of lava, slowly drifting towards a roaring demon, which blows a gout of flame that turns into a pack of tiny biting monsters that try to push him overboard as the boat starts sinking and the demon taunts him by reminding him that he can never return to Heaven, meaning when he dies again, he'll be sentenced to Hell. He runs to the stern of the ship, but there's no escape. Just as it falls below the lavaline, he wakes up.

That scene scares me TODAY. 80's kids were *tough*.

Out of these, I pick The Secret of Nimh for sure. Really loved that movie when I was growing up.

Definitely "The Land Before Time". I actually consider it kind of a Christmas movie too - even though it obviously has nothing to do with Christmas, and was set a few million years before Jesus was born, it was always shown on TV *every* Christmas Day morning when I was a kid. Always makes me a bit sad thinking about it now, knowing what happened to the actress who voiced my favourite character, Ducky.

I gotta go “other” because I’m old and these weren’t out when I was little lmao. Fun fact: the Disney Channel cost extra “back in my day”, so I never really got into Disney in general. Anyway, I think the animated movie I watched the most in the 80s was “Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown”, I was a big Peanuts guy.

pretty even split. it was a tough choice between balto and the iron giant. though my favorite was this movie with woodland critters in a truck crash trying to find shelter after their home was burned and they escaped into a construction site and they called the construction equipment "yellow dragons" loved that movie, no idea what it was called
