No; when I realize I'm dreaming, I wake up. I'm not sure why; my brain doesn't appear any more enamored of reality than I am, but that's how it works.
But I'd like to give an honorable mention to Tarol Hunt, creator of the webcomic Goblins: Life Through Their Eyes. He was haunted, as a child, by a terrifying monster that ran through his nightmares. He couldn't get away from it either. So what did he do? Wrote a webcomic, in which he incorporated that monster- then provided D&D statistics for it, so that ANYONE could destroy it. He faced down his nightmare, dragged it into the daylight, and killed it. You have to respect that.
I also made a dream last sleeping
I forget a little look like I went into a room then I think that a dream then wake up to see another room but I clearly know a thought wtf that is not my room.
but I knew I watched a singing of Les Misérables before sleeping there is a sentence I dream a dream and others are related to what I watch I think.
Could have been.
Sometimes I feel like I don’t realize it’s a nightmare and so I don’t bother taking control of it, if that makes sense. Then I wake up crying and I talk to myself in the dark and rock back and forth before crashing out again.
Of course you don't know it's a dream but reality and you are just trying to survive.
I do that often. It's called lucid dreaming. When i am about to be attacked by snakes or a ghost, i try to find ways out which includes opening doors, throwing stuff. If that doesn't work, i decide to wake up
Next time lead it to the door you have set up with a pail of water on it. If it doesn't wash the monster away it will certainly wake you up.

Since I sleep with brown noise playing, most times I can. I'll either do that or if it gets too scary, I'll wakeup before anything bad happens. But I like nightmares so I'm always kinda frustrated when I do that.
What's brown noise? Is that like white noise for POC?
@Jamie05rhs It's like I do sometimes, also called white noise. I have a fan on so there is a constant noise that doesn't change and it blocks out sounds that may come in from outside or some dripping faucet.
I originally started using it to block outside noises due to hyperacusis. The other noises are too harsh for my sensitive ears. But I slowly discovered that it also allows me to lucid dream more frequently.
There are even techniques out there to lucid dream more frequently with noise. I believe you have to set an alarm clock to wake up right before your last rem cycle or something. Then when you go back to sleep with the brown noise, you'll be even more likely to lucid dream.
I haven't really looked into it much because I can lucid dream fine if I want to. I usually just have to remember to think about it before I go to sleep 🤣 which I often don't
Have you ever fallen asleep and then been awakened by a loud bang or the doorbell? But when you looked out the window no one was there? I've also heard a doorbell but then realized it wasn't my bell's tone. Weird.
Only on very rare occasions. Most of the time I can't tell. Sometimes I realize it and are am... "oh I think I'll fly now " other time I got angry at the dark figure like something out of a horror flick trying to attack me, but I attacked it instead. 🤣
I tried lucid dreaming for a while. I wanted to be able to fly like Superman so before I went to sleep I tried to imagine flying to where I go to on vacation. I did this for a few successive nights and eventually I actually had a dream where I was flying.
Nightmares I would thing are usually out of control experiences and that lack of control is what makes them so scary.
I have. It usually happened when wake up and go back to sleep a few times. I have two triggers that sometimes make me aware I am dreaming. One is my grandpa house and he there's but I remember he died... the other is I I'll be back in high school going to classes but I know I graduated already. I usually am only able to control the dream for a maybe a min. I always seem to fly.. which I think ismy. Soul returning to body.
I have had sleep paralysis too. Scary as fuk. The room turned a gray color a d everything was rotting.. and it wasn't a shadow but he did have a hat on and he kicked my ass
He also kicked my ass on iv dmt.. felt my teeth pop like popcorn.
I can esp w it too but all I do is say I'm sorry Im sorry. Dmt isn't good
I kept dreaming that I was in my bed and a dark figure stood by my bed. After the first two nights of having the same dream I learned that if I kick my leg, I will wake up. I also failed a few trsts at school so every once in a while I dream I have to pass those tests again but I never realize I'm dreaming. It's interesting that school which is supposed to help us, is the source of some of our nightmares.
Hell no, high school gave me plenty of nightmares but they have mostly stopped but persisted for years.
Lucky you. I never realize it's a dream until I wake up.
Well I was trying to punch a guy in my nightmare and I slugged the night table lamp and broke the glass shade.
Damn I thought I was the only one yes it happens to me and I can talk to myself and manipulate the whole thing just and know that I'm doing it
Hmmm, dream was about girls?
Put a nicotine patch on your arm before you go to bed and you will have the most vivid f***ed up dreams ever
Uhhhh, no!
Ya no doubt. I forgot i had it on. Never again
Yes, actually there’s been times. That it was a horror movie with ghosts and demons and all.
And I don't know why , but by the end of it. I was fighting these characters all guns brazing!!!
I take it they got you as you can't kill a ghost.
Ahh dream manipulation / dream modulation
You know about Directed Energy Weapons?
You know the Brain has no firewall?
Only a War Lord would know that.
oh ya
Indeed, maybe i'm the one taking over your mind.
you wouldn't know and couldn't prove it either way though.
only in real life... have not tried it in my dreams
Yes you can impact dreaming, either concisely or unconcisely. Its a fact, nightmare or otherwise.
This is called lucid dreaming and is not uncommon. I have these from time to time but unfortunately not on a regular basis.
I never did with nightmares, but I have with other types of dreams
Interesting. I've never had anything like this happen to me. I wish If I had a chance to control my dreams I would try to have different dreams every night. This sounds so fun.
This is called lucid dreaming, nearly 50% of the population have had a lucid dream at some point.
So the other 50% sleep walk to work?
Lol sleep walking and lucid dreaming are two different things
Yes i saw this on spongebob as a kid where you can actually have some control of your dreams so of i had a weird nightmare i knew how to wake myself up from it.
Sometimes. It's called lucid dreaming. I had one fairly recently.
Don't tell me. Freddy Krueger was after you and when he caught you all you said is don't take too much off the top and leave my side burns. Hope you left him a tip.
When it's a nightmare and I know that it is. I fight back, but then nightmares throw a punch that's even worse. Or it's just me.
All I know is if I say a bitch like Freddy Kruger chasing me in a dream I wouldn't run I'd plant my feet and run the hands with him
No, but I am aware I’m in dreams. The serial killer docs I fall asleep to start showing up.
Maybe once or twice I did that
Unfortunately, I've never been able to do that.
I never been in a lucid dream.
Yes, I believe it's possible.
No I have not.
