In the movie "Wizard of Oz", when the witch ordered the flying monkeys to attack Dorothy and the gang, but what did they do to the lion in the film?

I always wondered what happened to Lion since that was never shown in the movie, we seen what happened to the others in the haunted forest when the monkeys came and chased after Dorothy, teared Scarecrow apart, and glocking over the Tin Man with one taking his Axe but whatever happened with Lion is my curiosity.

I don't know if it was Wizard of Oz or the Wiz but they held him up by his tail for a long time like in a wedgie style
