Were you a fan of any of the animated Disney sequels?

This was inspired by Smahala’s Disney song question. Okay so even though none will compare to the original, have you ever seen any of the sequels? Did you like them? —I really liked the  Aladdin  sequels —I loved the  Little Mermaid  but did not like that little brat Melody in part 2. — Pocahontas  1 kinda bored me but Pocahontas 2 pissed me off since she chose the wrong damn John!  — Lion King  2 was more interesting to me than Lion King 1 (said no one ever)  — Mulan  2 was a mess without Eddie! — Jungle Book  2 is hardly memorable aside from him getting a little girlfriend. — Fox and the Hound  2 isn't memorable. —I freakin loved  Cinderella III Twist in Time  way more than the original. —I didn't care for  Bambi 1 or 2. — Kronks New Groove  was decent. —I still want to see  Atlantis 1  lol. — Peter Pan  Return to Neverland was certainly more interesting than the 1st. — Tarzan  2 was okay. wasn't there a Tarzan and Jane movie as well? —I didn't like  Frozen  1 so i won't be watching Frozen 2. Plus they ruined Elsa’s hair in the sequel. —I didn't like the  Cars / Toy Story  sequels —The live action  Dalmation  film was ok — Incredibles  1 and 2 were amazing! — Finding Dory  was boring. #FeelFreeToList #DisneySequels Welp, its XXX rated hour. Time to watch more adult-like movies. I will come back and discuss Disney in the morning 🤣

1. Yeah, I actually liked the Aladdin sequel too. Abysmal was a funny side-antagonist, and Jago's redemption was sweet.
2. Bleh, Ursula's sister was like a bad discount in LM 2. But Ursula herself is an iconic disney villain.
3. I will admit I had a thing for Kiara, she was so headstrong and cute. But the first is always superior and my favorite disney movie.
4. Yes, overall just a deterioration of the entire story. Mulan 1 was epic with the Huns and Shan Yu, my favorite disney villains.
5. Something about a carneval and singing dogs right? I mostly remember that terrifying grizzly bear and "DAGNABIT WOMAN" 🤠
6. Now that you say it I remember how the stepmother took charge of the staff and that was actually cool. It turned quite dark all of a sudden when she warped time itself lol.
7. I have barely watched the Bambi movies.
8. I loved Kronk's New Groove since I loved the character. The first is still best though.
9. Atlantis is a good movie. Not a favorite of mine but it's alright.
10. Meh, I liked the first mostly for Captain Hook humor, otherwise not so much the story itself.
11. Nah, Sabor being killed in Tarzan took away the interest for me, that was my favorite character.
12. Yeah the Incredibles were good movies.

The first Disney animation I saw as a kid was The Little Mermaid (I had a crush on Ariel), so when I saw its sequel "Return to the Sea" I WANTED to like it, but it was very difficult to do so.

Looking back as an adult, it's just retelling of the same story, just backwards. I can see how they could have made it work, but it turned out cheap. Melody also made some pretty dumb choices, even at her age. Like, where tf was she expecting to go on that row boat after finding out about the locket?

The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning, on the other hand, was *absolute* trash. Having watched that made me appreciate Return to the Sea a little more. It had THE stupidest plot of any Disney franchise that I've personally seen.

I have watched Arielle 2, beauty and beast 2, Toy story 2, pocahontas 2, elsa 2 and I just hate the sequels lol

I feel like they destroyed the original story and the feeling that you had with the first

I like The Lion King and Frozen. I like both the first and second movies in those sequels.

I think the only one I've ever seen was the Return of Jafar, which seemed decent enough at the time, but when I saw it again, years later, I was agog at how simplistic the animation was in comparison to the original. It's like they blew their whole budget on "You're only second rate", and everything beyond that was just... euh.

Wait- does "Hook" count? It was a Disney *movie* if a more a sequel to the book than the earlier film. That was actually pretty good (Robin Williams, Steven Spielberg, and Dustin Hoffman; how could it not be?).

Any Mrs Incredible XXX animated Disney sequel is usually a great watch.
Rewatching Incredibles 1 and 2 wasn't incredible.
I loved watching them all as they came out but later on it was just like Peter Pan 2 I agree much better...

Krunk was alright.

I actually liked Frozen significantly more than 1.

Toy Story 2 dope AF and the other's were trying too hard.

I liked Atlantis but the quality drop from theatrical released animated films to the straight to home videos were very obvious to me and bugged me to hell. And...

I like the Lion king 2,
The Aladdin sequel where he met his dad.
Frozen was okay, but not better than the first one.
Peter Pan was okay.
Mulan is okay.
Can't really remember tnez other sequels I've seen. Or I'm just mixing them up with the first movie.
I do know some interesting sequels to the other movies you said you're going to watch.

I did like Frozen 2, the Cars series, The Incredibles 2. The live action remakes are all hit and miss for me. I think the highlight of those is Cinderella from 2015

I honestly didn't see them all. But I saw the tv series a lot as a kid (Tarzan, Captain Balu, Aladdin, Little Mermaid) I remember Mulan 2 to be boring, Incredibles 2 was unexpectedlh good.

Nowadays THE ONLY animated movies I like (also their 3D graphics versions + the versions with real actors) are those about Asterix & Obelix.

I admit I have not been into the animated movies other than the original Aladin with Robin Williams as the genie. I can't imagine improving on his humor. He was a fabulous actor and his voice made the character and the movie.

I don't like sequels. They are rarely as good as the original. The only Disney sequel I find as good as, or better than, the original, is "102 Dalmatians".

Well I never watched the Disney sequels I just watch the 1st movie and I was done because it was never the same actors or voices. Maybe the only sequels I saw was toy story 2 but that's probably it.
