TV Shows like this once ruled prime time TV though 50s, 60s and 70s
Do you think they should bring back Variety TV shows , but with a modern touch?

Well, first, you need to recognize that The Carol Burnett Show and Laugh In were not variety shows - they were all skits. Hee Haw was more like a country Saturday Night Live - skits and a song or two that included that week's guest (and that usually included one of the "Where oh where are you tonight? Why did you leave me here all alone? I searched the world over and thought I found true love. But you met another and, *pthhp!*, you was gone.").
You forgot to include some other good examples of that time:
1. Donny & Marie
2. Captain and Tennille
3. Tony Orlando and Dawn
4. Mac Davis Show
There used to be Sabado Gigante on Univision or Telemundo, but that ended after 50+ years with Don Francisco's retirement a few years ago.
But, really, the benchmark of all variety shows was The Ed Sullivan Show.
Late-night talk shows still are something of a variety format.
Personally, yes, I would love to see a decent variety show comeback.
What do you mean by "modern touch"? You can answer that in an update to the question.
DEFINITELY! They were BETTER than ALL the CRAP they call Reality TV: 'ALL the CRAP, ALL the TIME'!
Thank you for MHG
Almost anything has to be better then most of this reality tv they call entertainment now.
Yes!
That's great to hear coming from someone so young
I know I used to watch clips of it with my grandparents and it had the CD's on the TV of what they looked like.

That would be nice to see a couple of them. It gives new singers and groups a chance for recognition. You don't want to go too far. In the 70s, TV was SATURATED with Variety shows, and it destroyed the genre. I think Rosie O'Donnell tried a Variety show a couple years ago, and it bombed big time.
Yes, The Ed Sullivan Show is still on one of the rerun channels. He always had good performers. Maybe if they could have some of the more current acts along with some established performers it would give people a chance to see some of the more newer acts.
One of my favourites, the Colgate Comedy Hour with Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis
That's a good one
How about a modern minstrel show? 🤔
Live comedy is far better than canned laughter, or sign-directed audience participation.
Yes, I would love to bring all the TV shows back with modern flavor.
