Do you like the band Rage Against the Machine?

They have a good amount of songs I love to listen to when I am working out or doing work in general.
Guerilla Radio, Calm Like a Bomb, Sleep Now in the Fire, Bulls on Parade, Renegades of Funk, Killing In The Name, How I Could Just Kill a Man, Wake Up
Generally speaking I thought they were overrated. They had some catchy tunes but their entire catalog sounds the same to me. I will say that Tim Cummerford is an underrated bass player though. He's pretty cool to watch.
Brad Wilk is a monster drummer also.
They kick ass! And to think Tom Morello can make such sound on a guitar too..
I was just listening to them earlier in the car.
I like a few songs, but nothing more.

I used to love them as a teenager and young adult. I still respect them tremendously for their objectively amazing music and for their activism. The only reason I don't listen to them anymore is simply because it's not quite the style of music that appeals to me anymore, for the most part. But every 100 moons or so I might listen to them again for fun and will enjoy it, mostly in a nostalgic way.
Yes.. people really liked for us (garage band) to play this one, and I didn't end up hating it, lol
https://www.youtube.com/embed/4KXdU3cZbNQI used to like them a lot in high school. My favorite was Bulls on Parade:
https://www.youtube.com/embed/3L4YrGaR8E4Zack has literally become the very machine he used to believe that he was raging against. Compare his own words from the 90s to his words in the last few years and they are opposites.
Now he does what the establishment tells him...
I used to until they refused to let unvaccinated people into their concerts. They totally sold out to the machine. They apparently have no idea what the machine is.
Apparently you don't
The machine isn't science and medicine
Lmfao
Already boosted babes
Science in politics is a empty word due to both parties. You can't throw around the idea of the science saying something without listing your sources and clearly stating your references. Because when you do science is a empty word. Also you can argue that doing so you are lying by admission. Because you failed to provide any proof to back up your claim. That kind of behavior can ensure that your term paper is thrown out and you are made to turn in a new one to not have your term paper reflected in your overall grade. Why are both sides of the political isle so unwilling to hold their elected officials to the same standards?
I used to, back in the day - remember seeing them play Reading Festival some time around 2000. It's a long time since I stopped following them though, and I'm a little surprised they're even all still alive, let alone making music.
Nope one of those big bands that are iconic but yet really bad. Like Black Sabbath there is not a single song of theirs's that is good yet... massive iconic. Or if were taking it to what influenced a lot the beetles yet pure trash.
I do
Did you know they're banned from playing SNL
I did quite hilarious
I listened to them a lot when I was in high school, they have some good songs
I like them. Also I'm still surprised they where able to break into main stream media. I don't think they would be able to do so today. Because both sides of the political isle wouldn't allow it.
The genre really isn’t my thing. Anyway, they need to rename the band “Rage On Behalf of the Machine”
My thoughts exactly. The saying is true: “You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain”.
Not as much as 16 year old me but sometimes hearing a song from them sirely cheers me up!
hell yes! Killing in the name of was my jam back then!
I do what's funny is some other songs
I thought they were the Red Hot Chili Peppers
I like the music but their politics are stupid and they're sellouts.
Their music is entirely political lmao how can you like it but think it's stupid at the same time
Because socialism is stupid. And they don't believe the politics they're singing about. I listen to snoop dog, but have no desire to make Eazy E suck my dick.
Mmm pretty sure they do.
Nothing says ‘fight capitalism’ like $300 concert tickets, lol.
Nothing says ‘fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me’ like requiring concert goers to be vaccinated.
Their most expensive tickets are charity tickets 100% of the proceeds go to charity or activist organizations. They had to put some ticket prices up to combat scalpers who were reselling them up to $1000.
But their standard tickets are $125usd
i use to when i was a lot younger, i liked the music and the message.
i outgrew them and music like that too.
i am not into them anymore or that kind of music too.
Some of the music slaps. It reminds me of when I heard them in my childhood. But upon revising them, there far-left craziness is very apparent. I can’t really enjoy it that much in such songs.
Shitty band full of whining “revolutionaries” wearing hundred dollar t-shirts and being a bunch of simps.
i like some of their songs they’re a bit too preachy about political stuff tho.
That's literally the point of the band
i know and that’s why they’re only ok
Music wise... they're OK.
But their political stances make them intolerable.
But you like their music? 🤨
Like I said it's "ok". I remember them claiming that 9/11 cost them fame. They won't even admit that it's just that they weren't good enough. Public enemy is kind of the same way. I've always liked public enemy. But they're more activists than musicians anymore. Understand what I'm saying?
Just a little confusing if you find their political stance intolerable but their music ok as their music IS their political stance.
As for the 9/11 thing I don't know what you are referring to, their online forum was shut down by the CIA which they were fine with. Don't know how it cost them fame as they weren't together at the time and didn't regroup until 2007.
Well I don't expect you to fully understand your young still. But here the clip so you know what I'm talking about. https://youtu.be/6oqDlUlSot8 yes you're right RATM broke up and some formed Audioslave with Chris Cornell. And I could care less. Because RATM was just a Buzzbin band form Mtv's late 90's. You know, around your birth. Nothing but a few hits, exploiting youth anger. That's all they ever were to me. Yes I liked their music. But I was also young. And it's a bit nostalgic to me. I know RATM still has loyal followers. But most of them are losers that never grew up 🤣.
Get a little older and you'll probably understand better.
Ah you created your own domino effect I see. They didn't say 9/11 cost them fame. The censoring that happened because of 9/11, cost them their very livelihood. Radio was still big then. Also don't play that older S wiser trope with me. That's some ignorant Bs
Domino effect. 🤣 Ah the ignorance of youth.
Let me ask you this. Why do you have to apprpriate my generations music?
It sounds like you're still trying to figure out who you are. It's ok... you'll get there.
No one expects you to have it all figured out yet.
Do you not know what appropriate* means? 💀
Yeah. I'm guessing by your response you don't.
They’ve been around for a long time.
"Do you like them?" - "They've been around for a long time."
Interesting.
@MountAverage It really makes me wonder how they got through school or job interviews
For sure amazing band... So many good tracks
no, thats like an assault on my brain.
Not so much. They give me a headache.
Yeeeesssss
I like them
When I was a kid, sure.
Their debut album is great
I haven't heard their stuff in years
