What is more important in a story? Good Plot or good characters?

Good in this case doesn't mean morally only good written
I know that at best both should be good but if you would have to choose between a story that has either a good plot or good characters which would you choose.
I'm also aware that both go togheter but can a good plot save badly written characters orcan a good written charater save a bad plot.
