Are there músical songs where you love the instrumentals but hate the lyrics?

I was thinking of Alanis Morisette’s hit song “you outta now” back from the 90s. Being a 90s kid this was part of my generation.

I really loved the beat and hypnotic rhythm to this song. But when I got older I found the lyrics to be increasingly annoying when I understood what she was singing about.

As I got older I find myself preferring instrumental music more and more. It allows my mind to customize what the song means to me. I usually can’t relate to most artist’s lifestyles anyway (male or female).

The spice girls sound good but their lyrics are sexual and a lot of hip hop artists have good melodies but their lyrics are all about drug dealing and perverse sex.

Yep. Lyrics can screw it up. It can also “age” the song if they sing about current events.
