Do you still watch cartoons despite your age?

Your parents should be proud. Cartoons have been made by the most creative, fun, sarcastic, smart people on the planet.
Who doesn't love the Simpsons, Futurama, and hosts of others on Adult Swim? And what about Bugs Bunny, Yosemite Sam, the Tasmanian Devil, Foghorn Leghorn, the witch with the bobby pins that fall out of her hair and her crazy laugh? The Dot and the Line? Academy Award winning cartoon. How about the one with the frog that only sings and dances when the frog's owner watches it and when brought before an agent does nothing... therefore bankrupting and driving the owner crazy: ah Greed!
I grew up on those and was watching The Tick on CBS when my labor pains started before I delivered my son who is soon to be 27 years old. Monsters Inc., Despicable Me... There are so many Great cartoons and great animation. Wonderful voices and writing.
It's an art form. Tell your mom THAT! I"m 66 and I LOVE cartoons: old and new. They're a joy.
Oh, yeah.
I love cartoons. Avatar the Last Airbender was a formative series I still rewatch on occasion, and I'm halfway through One Piece.
Both have adult themes and philosophy, with the whimsy and approachability of kids shows.
Especially if the animation is well done, I'll watch cartoons. I like animation, drawing, storytelling - often cartoons have the kind of stories I most enjoy.
It's not childish to enjoy something you like as an adult. It's childish to think joy has an age limit.
Mr. Bean, watcher, are you? Of course. Good shows!
Actually, the better cartoons work on multiple levels, age-wise.
And, to really enjoy cartoons to their max, the viewer needs to have a rich background of information and learning from which to draw to interpret many of the more subtle meanings in the reel.
Good Example: Rocky and Bullwinkle. Cute action and nutty moose for the kids ("funny how that works out, eh, Rock?"), underlying theme about the Cold War, horrific puns, and strange agents for the adults.
Upsidasium? Well, if someone didn't know about uranium and plutonium's importance in the 50's and 60's, they might miss quite a lot of the humor about the upsidasium!
June Foray (Rocky, Natasha), Bill Scott (Bullwinkle, Mr. Peabody) .
Out of ''nostalgia'' - yes, sometimes

I watch Anime its more sophisticated. But her are some examples of amazing cartoons i used to watch when i was a kid that i consider to be as high quality as anime.

I often watch and rewatch The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers, Rick and Morty, BoJack Horseman, Big Mouth, Archer and Disenchanted. Those are the adult ones.
But then sometimes, when I'm eating breakfast and I like to tap into my childhood, I'll watch like an episode of Gravity Falls, The Adventures of Gumball, Regular Show, Lou, Titeuf, TinTin, Totally Spies or Winx lmao.
Such a long list haha
My daughter loves My Little Pony (new generation) and Monster High. My husband is almost 40 and he can tell you all the character’s names because he watches it with her. He also watches a lot of the 90’s and early 00’s kid shows on his own. I have no issues with it.
I still love watching some of the cartoons that I grew up with I don't really care for the cartoons that my oldest watches. My Dad got me interested in Bugs bunny, daffy duck and some big rooster that he used to watch as a kid. I think I was interested in them because I was raised on a small ranch and you would see them all on a ranch or farm. Youtube is my goto channel when I want to see my oldies again.
rarely but on occasion I do... now I do watch hella anime but thats a bit different it's more adult cartoons depending what your watching I guess. But I can say I sometimes watch Scooby doo, Charlie brown, and looney toons with my dad, so no I don't think my parents care lol
I have a brother who still watches The Flintstones. I dont know why--but he is mildly retarded (seriously) and that may be the reason. I know someone else who is "normal", in his mid 40s and watches SpongeBob.
The only cartoon I entertained myself with was Courage the Cowardly Dog. It really is meant for adults, if you watch it. Hilarious.
Your parents seem particularly biased. They must be unaware that there are adult cartoons like Family Guy, Rick & Morty, and even some pretty violent things not recommended for children. So yeah, I still watch and will watch even if I reach 100 years old.
There's plenty of animated shows for adults. I'm still watching the Harley Quinn series.

Oh cut it with these social rules. Watch shat you want. Many cartoons aren't even meant for kids. The Simpsons for example can't often be understood by a 10 year old, with many adult themes. won't even start with south park.
There are cartoons made specific for kids (with mild easy story lines) and there are ones made for everyone (more adult themes, comedy, more complex story lines)
omg yes! All the time. Clone Wars is my favourite. I even watch it in other languages. French including. I think I sent you a video in French once.
I watch the same ones @NorthwestRider mentioned lol. Along with adult animation like Bobs Burgers, Family Guy, American Dad, Beavis And Butthead, etc.
You can't go wrong with some Ren And Stimpy too lol.
Absolutely. I still watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer every year:
On MeTV they still show the old cartoons like Bugs Bunny. Sometimes I could sit down and watch one for old times sake. The new cartoons just plain suck.
I would probably definitely watch Scooby-Doo doo if I still watched TV and had nothing else to do.
UP is the best movie anyone has ever seen. Lol I'm exaggerating but it's darn great and 5 stars animal... So... all cartoons aren't equal.
30 years ago an adult watching Cartoons would be weird, but in 2010s to now, adults watch cartoons that's meant for kids all the way to adult cartoon sitcoms, so yes I still watch cartoons despite my age, and I don't plan on stopping.
I still watch Loony tunes
MeT. V. at 9:00 am every Saturday.
And I'm 27 years old. 💞
It depends. I can’t even remember the last time I sat and watched a cartoon. I did watch star wars rebels for some time. Animations are hardly the same.. and it was still years ago.
Sometimes. Nothing wrong with watching cartoons at any age lol.
I feel like watching all the pokemon movies again if that counts.
I love cartoons i can escape being a adult for a bit and just decompress gotta say im into gumbal right now reminds me of a frind and I when we were younger
Cartoons aren't just for children, thats just a thing boring people tell you because they want to seem "mature", when in reality they just either have no life, or simply have different preferences.
Yes, but not the ones I once watched as a child.
Now they are more adult oriented :)
If your parents think that cartoons are for kids, have them watch Watership Down. Thah'll cure that REAL quick.
Always will delve into old school throwbacks from when I was a kid on a slow day or rainy day. Good fun.
I'm a big fan of NARUTO I actually don't really like anime, only NARUTO. I prefer Hollywood filmed cards to Japanese cartoons.
No, I don't. I stopped watching cartoons when I was 10 or so.
Interesting, Mr. Bean's mouth on that cartoon screenshot above looks a lot like the love of my life's pussy - a cute coin slot with a darker area around it. 🤣 🤣
Hardly unless its like Boondocks, Harley Quinn or Miraculous
And sometimes Rocket Power and Courage the Cowardly Dog. I miss As Told By Ginger
I watch Family Guy and American Dad.. Stewey and Roger are funny! Sometimes Bob's Burgers also
Your age is fine to watch cartoons, I still watch cartoons at my age, No offense but mom should lighten up sorry 👼 🙏
I unapologetically still watch cartoons and I will continue to do so until I die 😂
Oh, hell yes! Caught a bit of Smallfoot recently, and now I have to watch the whole thing, first chance I get.
I watch The Simpsons and Futurama, but that's about it.
I still love cartoons! And i don't see it as a problem.
You like what you like, you're entitled to enjoy them, it's not hunting anyone.
Yes. The really good ones from the `30's up to the mid `50's. SOME from the early to late `60's although, most of those are very hard to find.
Yep, sure do.
And i don't get why this is supposed to be an age thing.
Yes. To be fair cartoons were never really made for kids and most have lots of adult humor in them that you may not get or understand until you're older.
As if having live performance actors somehow makes the same script more or less mature.
And boomers wonder why we don't take them seriously 🤷♂️
who do you think makes those cartoons? adults lol. and yes. i do. i'm a creative, it's kind of part of the package.
I've watched South Park and Futurama. Mostly just anime if you want to count that.
yup, better than watching people's drama *oops. hahaha.
lololol sometimes I reminisce on the good ole times
Hell yeah
Even my dad watches it with me and he’s 49.
They’re super cool. I like Mr. Bean and Scooby Doo
I watch anime and shows like family guy or south park.
Usually the ones aimed at adults, but I do enjoy the odd anime.
As a Dad though I have an excuse to watch them all now.
Cartoons can be enjoyable for all ages. Ofc I do.
That Mr. Bean cartoon is sacrilege though. How dare you
Yeah! I actually still watch Spongebob and Tom and Jerry 😂
At the age of 39, yes because it brings back great memories, laughters, and they are now classics.
Yea accept I don’t watch tv much I usually be watching stuff on YouTube or the iTunes Store on my iPhone 13
I watch anime. There's nothing wrong with watching cartoons as an adult. Like Walt Disney said, growing up is optional, growing old is mandatory.
Yeah. I mean, those Rugrats, Hey Arnold, and Real Monsters were the stuff back in the day! Along with Ren & Stimpy, Rocko, and Invader Zim.
The same ones I grew up on such as Scooby Doo, Ed Edd Eddy, Danny Phantom, Fairly Odd Parents, SpongeBob, Rugrats, etc
even when i was a kid i hated cartoons, im not sure why...
Yes I do. My grandmother used to watch them with me and I enjoy watching them with my kids.
Only classic toons, none made in the last ten tears.
Yup just like playing video games, it's something I'll never grow out of
Yeah and I mean cartoons meant for like little little kids
Yeah but not regularly. Just depends on the mood. But it's not because of my age. I just have more hobbies now than just watching cartoons.
Of course. Just because someone don’t like cartoons. Doesn’t mean they should have a problem with someone else watching cartoons.
Yes I have set down with my children and grandchildren. I don't care.
