Thoughts on the new LEGO Technic Ferrari Daytona SP3?

From the LEGO® Technic™ Ultimate Car Concept series comes an impressive build for adult Ferrari fans. Enter a zone of total mindfulness as you recreate the features of the Ferrari Daytona SP3 model in classic red with chrome-painted rims. Then place it on display to admire the iconic rear and curved lines that make this 1:8 scale model so special.

With a high level of functionality, this model is a replica of the real Ferrari. Features include steering, an 8-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shifter and a V12 engine with moving pistons. Just like the original supercar, this collectible Ferrari model features opening butterfly doors.

This is the 4th addition to this series of supercar builds: a range of collectible models inspired by some of the world’s most luxurious vehicles.

Each model gets their own unique serial number, in addition to a small placard you can display next to the car.

At the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona, Ferrari took the top three places in the first round of the International World Sports Car Championship. The 330 P3/4, 330 P4 and 412 P that famously shot past the chequered flag side by side perfectly encapsulated the spirit of the sports prototypes of the 1960s, a decade now considered the golden era of closed wheel racing.

The Ferrari Daytona SP3, the second car to join the limited edition Icona series, pays homage to the mid-rear-engined Ferrari V12 sports prototypes that earned the marque its unparalleled motor sport status.

599 examples of the real car will be built from 2022 and will be sold for $2.25 million each.

I'm definitely ordering this technic set, I love Ferrari and the history behind the car! this is by far one of the most amazing technic sets they have ever created.

Looks cool.

I've always loved playing with lego as a kid and I built all sorts of things with it, including cars, just nothing anywhere near that level, but I don't think I had too many sets of specific model builds and if I did, they all got mixed up.

It's not much about the toy itself but I'm glad to see Legos evolve and not collapse like most toys, technology is ruining the childhood franchise
