No, I'm through supporting Disney. I mean, by canon, the show should consist of Obi-Wan hanging around in the desert, watching Luke from a distance and having occasional minor interactions with him, and... that's pretty much it. "Keeping a low profile" doesn't exactly make for exciting storytelling.
Disney's hemmed in by its own sequel trilogy, and that's just kinda stupid. The books and comics and video games went past the "scrappy underdogs against an entrenched evil empire" scenario; I'm not sure why Disney can't. They want more interesting female characters, but then don't give them the struggles and sufferings that mould let them BE interesting. I'd take a THOUSAND Mara Jades over a Rey. Hell, I'd take a thousand MARAs over a Rey, and he's not even FROM Star Wars (although a Star Wars/Lord of Light crossover is a very interesting idea...).
Anyway, Disney's stuck with the current timeline- so why stay there? Go into the far future, or the distant past; tell us about the efforts to found the Republic in the first plage, or just give us some stories oy exploration, out among the uncharted stars. Give us the story of a pregnant woman who loses her husband, only to have the Jedi order gome knocking, claiming that her unborn child is so force-sensitive that it would be a threat to leave untrained, raising questions of just how "voluntary" that training is, and whether a person's right to make their own life supersedes public safety. Heck, maybe the reason the baby seems so strong is that they're actually twins, and she has to give one of them up, Sophie's Choice style, and then raises the other to HATE the Jedi on some desolate, crime-ridden backwater to stay hidden, and you wind up with a harsh but well-intentioned crime lord bringing stability and peace, gradually improving the place, conflicting with his/her sibling, a better-trained but hopelessly idealistic naif with a firm code of morals but little sense of how the real world works. Just THINK of the ideas and themes you could explore in a situation like that!
But no. They just do Tattooine and the same characters, over and over again.

I haven't and don't think I wanna. I think Star Wars kinda always sucked. It was okay for the first three movies because the cast was really good. But I think all the others were so horrible like 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9. All terrible! And I like Ewan McGregor but he was also terrible in 1, 2, 3. That's the stiffest acting I've ever seen from him! That Lucas guy has turned completely senile as I see it and then he sold it to even more tone-deaf people after.
I don't support disney, but there are plenty of sources to watch the show without going to Disney. I have just seen the first episode and I will watch the second one later. I thought it was just ok. Star Wars hasn't been the same since Disney bought it.
I still have to see it, but one of my brothers who's a starwars freak already spoiled it all. I'll still watch it, but I really would have liked the surprise.

I think it's off to a decent start. Not too crazy about the 3rd sister character, in my opinion the inquisitor storyline in Rebels was more impactful when they pitted the darkside fallen Barris against Ahsoka. Picking another padaqan from The Clone Wars series would have been a little better.
But all in all, getting McGregor and Hayden both to work on it is a bigger deal, and they got that right. Too soon to tell a lot more.Watched both first episodes last night and love the mystery near the end of the second one (I won't spoil it). One thing I will say is that it so far lacks the humor and clever lines in the script that is so famous and widely used in all the Star Wars movies and shows, so whoever is writing the script doesn't quite have the knack as Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau's writers.
I really liked it, it wasn't as good as the Mandalorien and like the first episode is like more a build up and shit but still I loved the costumes and I'm ready for this story to start and already really excited
Also how cute is lea 😍 hahaIt's great they managed to get Ewan McGregor to plan the part as in the movies, but I just don't see the point of it. Everything that is worth knowing about the character has already been told
Yeah, it sucks. It's already on 123Movies and ProjectFreeTV.
Also, no offense, but your avatar looks like a penis. A white guy's penis. In front of a huge purple vagina. Not going to watch any new Disney stuff. It's a corporation that is actively trying to brainwash kids and destroy traditional families.
I’ve not seen all of the movies and don’t know a lot about Star Wars but I did get hooked on the Mandalorian, so I may check this one out too.
I saw the first episode and I thought it was pretty good we’ll see how the rest of it is.
Not yet. Here in Finland, the first 2 episodes are shown in the theater. They might as well release it as a movie trilogy rather than 6x45 min episodes.
I've saw it and I think it's really good. Leia is so funny she make me think of me when I was a child XD
No, but I will watch the newly released episodes as soon as I can.
Lovin' it. Obi My Wan and Kenobi. He's so uncivilized. The Ella Enchanted Leia scenes were throwing me off a bit but second viewing helped cohesify it all. Reva has some growth to have and Inquisitors could be better.
Yeah seeing flea from the chilli peppers was a surprise. I did think little Leia was sweet. Obviously getting Hayden, and MacGregor involved was a big win too.
Please... No more starwars, there's too much of it.
Gave episode 7 a chance, hated it. Worked up the nerve to give one last chance and episode 8 came out. I was done. My beloved franchise is dead
Nope. And I still have not seen Episode IX. Plus the other spin-offs, I have a lot to do on my StarWars bucket list. Haha
Once Disney acquired starwars i lost all interest in it. Disney is infested with both woke libertards and pedophiles and I refuse to finicialy support them.
It was meh so far. Better to watch mandalorian or bobafett than this.
I have not seen this but suspect it is just a ripoff of a once great film franchise.
Not interested. ''Star Wars'' has become too commercial.
I like science fiction too much to do that to me.
