Love it just because of the returning cast really and that Leia actress is most impressive, but the show is just so subpar in writing, directing and pacing. Some great moments in each episode for sure though. It wasn't the plot I was looking for though sadly. But a fairly welcome one.
I have to agree on the pacing. The Clone Wars animated series covered more plotline in their 3 to 4 episode mini-series at 22 minutes per episode than the whole season of Kenobi covered. Knowing it was only going to be 6 episodes, they needed to move it along. Instead they included a lot of unnecessary scenes and dragged other scenes out. It really felt like the plot was just inching along. Then the last 2 episodes seemed like they were trying to wrap everything up in a hurry. Then fully half of the last episode was one unnecessary epilogue after another. They could have done a LOT better.
I had high hopes. But then the show came out and it apparently was written by 12 year olds for 10 year olds. I watched two episodes, it seems like a high grade youtube video.
Literally I want you to picture a 10 year old trying to run, while multiple grown adults "try to catch her" while literally running into trees like a tom and jerry cartoon to give her more time.
Example: Episode 3, Revenge of the Sith came out in 2005. Obi-Wan, played by Ewan Mcgregor, was a big character in episodes 1, 2, 3. That was 17 years ago. If you assume the average Obi-Wan fan alive today was just 9 years old when episode 3 came out, they would be average 26 years old today.
So then Disney makes an "Obi-Wan" show that not only doesn't focus very much on the character everyone showed up for, while making him a cowardly old geezer who cannot fight anymore, scraping by in the desert, but is literally written on par with a Tom and Jerry episode.
it is very meh... i was expecting something a lot more meaningful out of it. They wasted the first few episodes on saving princess Leia once again (actually saving her on two separate occasions taking up two full episodes). Was hoping to see Obi deal with a different situation instead of the same old I guess. It's not horrible but I feel it's just a wasted opportunity for them to give us a cool new original story of what Obi could have been doing during that time
It's hot ass, from every YouTube review I've seen. However, I gave up on Star Wars in 2017. It's long since been dead and The Mandalorian was never any good.
I mostly agree, with the exception of the last couple seasons of the Rebels and the last season of The Clone Wars animated series. Those were pretty solid.
Disney renewed Kathleen Kennedys contract for another 3 years last fall, in complete silence. Expect more woke propaganda destroying what remains of our childhoods.
I wanted to like it, but man the actual plotline was so slow to go anywhere. And then what should have been the main focal scenes were ruined by cutting back and forth between Kenobi and Vader to another scene. That really ruined the impact of what should have been the focal point.
Dude I know... I know. I loved the last episode for what it is but it doesn't connect well with the other episodes. Felt like the end of another movie almost which makes sense with how the writing process was for the past 7 years or so
