Well, it depends. You see, there is a difference between a movie and a film. Transformers is a movie. Scarface is a film.
I also view Pootie Tang as a film due to the enormous social commentary that is veiled behind the buffonery; but that's just me.
I would be annoyed if they called Fast & the Furious 729 a film.
We call it a movie, some of my friends call it films though. Just depends really, they get the term from old VHS tapes, which used film.
also comes from old film projectors of the early days of motion pictures
yup lol and the first full length film ever was a the super racist birth of a nation. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Birth_of_a_Nation
glorified the klan so much Woodrow wilson screened it in the white house and pretty much resurrected the klan lol. ohhh joy
There is only one person that I know that calls movies films & I work with the joker & it doesnāt bother me. On the other hand would it annoy you if the person called movies pictures? Back in the day I went to go see a FILM I mean movie & there was an older lady on line & she asked did you enjoy the picture.
My grandparents always called it a picture and so do i š
@DizzyDesii Back in the day like a flip book pictures were put together to create movement & I think they actually called it moving pictures however Iām going to have to research it a little more. My parents call them movies & the next time I talk to my parents Iām going to ask them if my grandparents called them pictures or film.
I wouldn't be bothered at all. But maybe it's because my first langage is French haha (we always use the world "film" in french).

I say film mostly but probably because that's how I grew up with English influence
Very posh :p
I interchange it. I often say āIm watchin a pictureā but sometimes i say āmovieā. Iāll type out āfilmā but hardly say it
No! Not at all, my dadās English, and he says āfilmā all the time, while mom says movie. However, unless it has anything to do with my dadās work, then he says motion picture. (He works in the motion picture industry).
Maybe a little bit, but English is the not the language that I use every day so I wouldn't listen someone saying "film" often.
They are often called shows here by people too, so you got films, movies and shows.
Friends and relatives use a lot of things interchangeably.
I say Film.
more so I say it FILIM , it annoys other English speakers down south lol.
Nah, that doesnāt bother me. I use them interchangeably, albeit, possibly incorrectly. Whatever.
Nah its endearing. As long as they don't care that I call it a movie.
No different than calling that carbonated beverage "soda" or "pop".
Lol we mostly call it ādrankā but occasionally type out soda. We never say pop tho
Everyone has their own way of saying things. It wouldn't bother me
I would say, āpfft, what a filthy casual. Only Giga Chads address it as a Motion Picture, ahahā
I don't watch "movies"; I watch films! :P
I think that would annoy me a little bit.
We call it movie only.
It doesn't really bother me personally.
Yes that would get old fast
Itās the same thing. Who cares?
But they are films.
Meh. Not really.
