My very first though is that it’s as historically inaccurate as the version with a light haired, blue eyed Jesus. I suppose if anything I’d say it’s kind of offensive from an artistic standpoint, because the art is completely unoriginal, and is directly plagiarized from DaVinci’s “Last Supper”! I’m aware that all art is derivative, which is to be expected, all artists seek inspiration from their idols. But this just seems deliberately derived for the purpose of replacing the more European looking disciples & Christ, with an African Christ & disciples. As a concept I think it’s fine, and if it were an original artistic endeavor it would be beautiful, but few things disgust me as much as plagiarism.

  @SmokinAces2000 Also, Jesus most definitely DID NOT have blue eyes, NOR was he white! Which is why I referred to DaVinci’s “Last Supper” as historically inaccurate.

  That’s not at all what it would have looked liked. Neither is DaVinci’s “Last Supper” for that matter! Christ and his disciples were from the Middle East, NOT Africa, and certainly not Europe! According to the New Testament we know the Jesus was born in Bethlehem, because that is where his father (Joseph) was born, and his father before him. Thus his lineage is firmly in the Middle East. Specifically modern day Israel, not Sub-Saharan Africa.

  @CrazyGirl2 where does this pic say its based in Africa? Where did I say anything about Africa? I didn't right? Oh ok. Jesus was most definitely not white with blue eyes. These men have tan skin and dark features, which is most likely the way that Jesus really looked. Don't know why you even decided to comment with this nonsense

  I mentioned Africa because the men in THAT picture are VERY clearly African! Look, if you can’t tell the difference between a Middle Eastern man, and a man from Sub-Saharan Africa, then I have no idea what to say? But you might not want to get rude with a person who has been to both places, and does know the difference!
