How much do you pay a month for subscriptions?

I just heard that people are paying $133 a month for subscriptions that have forgotten about.

I used to subscribe to Sirius for my wife but I just canceled it. It got too expensive . I got a free year of Showtime when I bought a new TV and did not watch it. Not even once . I don't know how they stay in business.

I suppose I do have a subscription. I have cable. It costs about 180 bucks a month for basic cable, internet and phone.

My monthly subscriptions as each of these I do subscribe to.

1. Electricity

2. Natural gas

3. Car insurance

4. Health insurance premiums

5. Two streaming services, one for movies, one for music.

6. Other utility services, monthly re-occurring, depending where I'm living at the time.

I can't think of any others at the moment, but probably missed a few.

I'd say around 500 to 600 a month for all of them combined, maybe a little more.

I also only do them on credit card, never debit and once a year I report it lost so I can get a new number. Great way to discontinue stuff you have a hell of a time cancelling or you might have forgotten about. Plus with the near daily hacks, better off getting a new number.

I assumed that this article was about streaming services and apps and not things like gas and electricity

Probably but technically those are subscription services when you think about it. As subscription is based on opinion.

The article likely was focused on the entertainment subscriptions, event though there are things like Office 360, as most software seems to be going subscription based anymore rather than letting people just buy it.

I personally think of it as something that you don't have a one time fee and it is a fee for a continuing of some sort of services.

I don't pay any. No magazines, no news papers, no streaming, nothing. I download everything for free online or i check free streaming and online news.

YouTube premium is the main one since I can stream it on my TV and have it playing in the background while doing other work.

In total though at least $25.

I don't pay anything for subscriptions I don't use. I do pay a total of about $100 for streaming services... that's a lot cheaper than the almost $200 I was paying for cable.
