Why aren’t most MMORPGs getting a better rating?

Most MMORPGs received around a 3 out of 5 stars instead of 4/5 out of 5 stars. Most of them have a limited, terrible inventory system, and some of them don’t work properly if you want to play them.

The last "new" MMORPG I played was New World, and it felt like a clusterf*CK of watered down concepts taken from multiple other games. It's like an AI cherry picked things that it thought were popular, then outsourced individual aspects to a dozen different developers, and mashed it together at the end. Very much fit the bill of being "entertainment made in a factory," and a 3/5 rating would've been pretty appropriate I think. The fact it clearly wasn't a passion product definitely crippled it.

In fact, most big games that have come out in the last few years wouldn't deserve more than a 3/5, and a lot of it has to do with a lack of polish or passion.

The kids rating them didn't grow up with them. The kids nowadays grew up with console games. They might know like runescape because of Twitch streams, but they won't know how to play a new mmorpg and will be overwhelmed.
