Consider the number of people who have lived and died in this world throughout the existance of humans up to this day. Even if it were an infrequent occurrance for the spirit of someone to linger here I think we would be fairly over run with the spirits of those who have passed. No ghost... No show. I believe the old school word for people that dothese things would be "charlatan"

I think most of the people who call them in believe, but I suspect the tv crew is just exploiting them.
Ask yourself one simple question, why do they never write a sentence on a piece of paper and ask the ghost to read it out loud?
