Risk!

I love games like this, and actually have a couple apps (risk, and war zone) that have map type conquest games on them. I played a game earlier today in fact.
I chose Monopoly!, though I agree it's not really fun when people get caught up in winning and are either bad winners or bad losers. Games should be fun, I have a hard time understanding why people act like that. I see it in sports as well, and it's an attitude that loses my respect.
A game, points, scoring, &c., it's all just for fun, it doesn't mean anything about your worth as a person, and it's just as likely that some other team will win next game or score the next point (s). People act like it's such a big deal. I especially think it's ridiculous when the out of shape couch jockey gets apoplectic about Team A vs. Team B. smh.

There's actually something of a renaissance going on in board games these days; there's a HUGE selection with many, many options of a staggering variety now.
I think I'd say that overall, my favorite is Reiner Kinizia's Tigris and Euphrates, a tile-laying game from 1996. It's the kind of game that's deceptively simple on the surface, but has layers and layers of strategy underneath that. And every game unfolds differently: some are quick, intense knife-fights where victory or defeat rests on the edge of a blade; some are long, slow, build-heavy affairs where there's little conflict at all; some START as the latter but get swung into the former when someone ELSE starts a battle between two players, then sweeps in to claim whatever's left. Kingdoms rise and fall, and in the end, it all comes down to how well your dynasty did- holding those glorious monuments doesn't mean much if you just happen to be the one in charge of them at the very end.
I love monopoly but damn does it get people fired up. Same with uno but I feel like uno is more lighthearted, people go crazy over fake money
I think it's funny when people start crying or getting so emotional about fake money like that. It's just a game, but people put so much into it lol
I like Uno Monopoly chess and Solitaire. I also like Five Hundred Rummy.

Chess and backgammon are good, but i get overly competitive. I had to quit playing monopoly for that reason. Ell oh ell! Cribbage is fun! Scrabble is probably my favorite.
My SO and I often play card games, gin rummy the most. What I do most often, though, is play online trivia games... there are several YouTube channels of trivia.
My favorites are: UNO, Monopoly, Dominoes, and Mahjong
I love Monopoly. I have a love of different versions. My favorite version is the Back To The Future trilogy version. I love all the different tokens through all the versions.
