I once rode in a T-37 and it was one of the most amazing things I ever did. The T-37 is a side by side trainer while the T-37 is a front to back trainer but I picked it because it looks cool.

I am into WWII warbirds and if I could chose one from either of those 2 manufacturers from that time, then I would chose the F8F Bearcat or perhaps the F46F Hellcat and F4F Wildcat.

Those are the most affordable to a non millionaire like me on the initial purchase but require extensive maintenance to keep flying. Bear in mind that my choice is based on me having unlimited funds. I am not so much into modern jets, although a MiG-15 or F-86 Sabre would do as well. I might as well dream outside of my financial means.

Although my all time favorite warbird is the basic North American T-28 Trojan. I just like the noise of its Wright R-1820 Cyclone engine. It is so unique with this kind of put-put-put sound.

@SueShe, you're awesome! What are your thoughts on the F4U Corsair, the P51 Mustang, and the Spitfire?

@SnowedIn Those 3 aircraft are indeed amazing. I think of the F4U Corsair and its inverted gull wing as one ultimate appealing looking aircraft.

The Spitfire caused a great deal of trouble, not only because of its elliptical wing but was also, like the German Bf-109 very challenging to land because of its narrow landing gear.

As for the P-51 Mustang, it does really look great. I did see a number of them at various airshows.

However, since we are dreaming, I would like to also mention rare birds such as twin body WWII aircraft such as the North American Twin Mustang or the Lockheed P-38 Lightning.

The story of Glacier Girl is quite amazing...

@SueShe... The Twin Mustang and the P-38 are beautiful. In between my original response to you and now, I see the news about the B17 and P-63 crash in Dallas, Texas? Tragic for the people onboard and their families, but also tragic about the aircraft.

@SnowedIn I did see a clip about the midair collision of both aircraft. It is indeed tragic for the people on board that did what they loved to do most.

The Bell P-63 Kingcobra was indeed a very rare bird to still be in flying condition while the B-17 Flying Fortress has a few left. Tragic nevertheless...
