No they aren't persistent with their own zombie lore, in season 11 zombies are just there to make it walking dead. The walk around normally in them, like they are friends in the end. No guts, no masks, no effort from the makers to keep the story straight.

I loved this show till they took it off TV, I then bought all 10 seasons on dvd, I’m now waiting on season 11 to hit dvd so I can buy it and watch it.
