Is it just me or is the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade a lot slower on Tv than in real time?

It seems to me like the parade is very slow on TV but in reality it seems to move a lot faster.

I've never seen it in person, but I would imagine that through the magic of television, with them filming from many different vantage points, TV viewers see the same sights over and over, whereas a stationary in-person viewer sees things go by once and then they're gone, thereby having an entirely different sort of experience.

The TV view is also truly actually longer than in-person because TV shows the beginning of the parade at the beginning of the route and the ending at the end of the route. That's an entire route length longer than an in-place viewer sees.

that is because they are showing you multiple shots of the same thing, over and over...

Could be for that same reason they walk so fast and they have to get cameras that record slower so it doesn’t look blurry my guess

I live in New York and I've never seen it in person. I stay out of the city when there are huge gatherings like the Thanksgiving parade, the ball drop and lightning of the Christmas tree
