Im an aquarist, so I would say, shrimp. Although I do not own any as of now (they need relatively cold water), I might in the future.

I feel like the colors make not want to eat it as much. I think I prefer less colorful one even if they are safe to eat.

@ZXCwWRQWz stomatopods like the mantis shrimp aren't great for eating, they are more something to admire. They see colors we cannot, and they shoot prey by creating air pockets from their claws to create a sort of stun gun effect.

People have tried to house them in regular aquarium tanks for their beauty, only to have them break the glass with said "stun gun" ability.

But I think not so good. I like Western way like eat big slabs of beef or bear leg!

It is not good in my opinion. I didn't grow up on it. Different region of Japan. But my wife loves. She also loves to eat whale fat and I think so gross.

@ZXCwWRQWz Yeah, I knew about the whale fat, I heard it smells horrible... It;s also illegal to hunt whales under UN laws, but japan's whalers don't seem to care.

I think it's worth abiding by UN ideas because it is gross! You really have to live on it to like it. It's like do you like whale so much that you isolate us or have someone to protect us when North Korea goes bomb-heavy with its neighbors? I think latter option is way better especially when we have way better stuff from across the world like Butter Chicken and NY-Style Pizza. I get it when Inuits eat whales but we don't need to do that anymore!

Cheers! Shark is also terrible to me like 90% of the time. If they don't really clean shark flesh with vinegar solution, it smells and tastes like urine toilet. It's so horrible and whale is kind of like that. I don't see the point of eating either unless there are no other food options.

Kind of like kidneys but I respect eating kidneys or sheep or lamb or any other animal, for example, because that's like salvaging the last part we can eat of the animal when every other part needs no such treatment to make it palatable. With whale or shark it's like every single part is gross and they are also endangered.

I saw an Indian user on here and she said Japanese cuisine is horrible. And at first, it offended me a little bit but later I agree. I much prefer Indian to Japanese food!

Argh! But I prefer sheep herpes virus over whatever this endangered sea stuff has in terms of diseases and parasites. I want to be vegan one day because I love animals and I don't think I could ever kill one but it's a transition for me. At the very least I don't want to be eating endangered species.
