The Game Awards 2022 have been announced. ''Elden Ring'' was awarded in 4 categories: Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best RPG. Which one has been your fav for 2022?
+1 yGod of War: Ragnarok
From its myth-shattering storytelling to deft tonal shifts, its emotional character arcs to its bone-breaking action, God of War: Ragnarok is what all action-adventure games should aspire towards. And in a year full of gorgeous games, Ragnarok is such a sight to behold it’ll make you want new glasses to see it all the better. Set three years after the previous installment, Ragnarok once again finds Kratos and his son Atreus attempting to find peace in Midgard, peace that is all too quickly shattered by the Aesir and the coming Ragnarok. While Atreus seeks to uncover his origins, Kratos fears the boy is leading them into a war with Odin that will have insurmountable consequences. As father and son travel across the nine realms with the sage Mimir, they encounter gods and monsters pulled from Norse mythology that test their strength, but more importantly their bond. For Kratos, it’s a story of seeking something more than war. And for Atreus it’s a coming-of-age story in which the consequences of growing determine what kind of god he’ll be. And for players? Well, it’s an epic and emotional saga that stands as the best game of the year in my opinion

+1 yElden Ring - WINNER.
A Plague Tale: Requiem.
God of War Ragnarok
Horizon Forbidden West
Stray
Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
I was expecting it to win, God of war was a good opponent, not gonna lie but the amount of secret rooms/levels, the weapon combinations are sssoooo maannnnyyyy and the content with the open world is MASSIVE so yeah, i think Elder Ring deserve it. But Stray does not belong to this list, just saying.
My favorite games this year! Of course Elder Ring, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands was nice, Metal: Hellsinger was a great challenge, the quarry and MADiSON were great horror games, TMNT is a great classic throw back game. Cod is just another grind fps game. Not a big fan of the second Horizon game.

What was the issue with the second horizon game? I'm interested in buying it because I loved the first one. How does elder ring compare to something like Witcher?
- +1 y
@victoriaxoxo in my opinion! If you played the first one, the new one is way much bigger with the tribes, the culture, the people where you drift in their story/back story and barley have a connection even with Aloy (the character's name). No dodging movements it's just running if you want to avoid attacks. Movement felt cluncky at times, i got stuck on nothing way too many times The weapons are the star, the open world is AMAZING & MASSIVE and it will take you ages to level up, upgrade your weapons and finishing the game. But! It's a fun game, it has real awesome moments. Elder Ring's variety with weapons, monsters, combinations is way bigger than any game out there but there is no plot, no story no character connection compared to Gerald.

Ok sounds intriguing, thank you!
+1 yMy husband has that game is trying to find ways to level up and beat monsters. For me, I haven't really been involved in too many games lately. Last game I was obsessed with was animal crossing until I got bored with it, after that I haven't play any games.. just been to tired or lazy to play any even though I want to.

+1 yI thought it was overrated, but fun. in my opinion, if you can’t explain why it’s fun without using the word “challenging” or “hard” then it’s not unique, because most games can be cranked up to legendary. Definitely not as groundbreaking as people act. Pales in comparison to skyrim, and that’s like 12 years old

Have never played Elden Ring. My vote is for a board game we got this year called Pan Am. Reminds me of my youth flying on their planes.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yIt sucks. It is too easy, and everyone spams the jump attack for easy wins on the bosses.
The bosses were very poorly designed. They get nerfed nonstop and make the bosses too easy to defeat.
I was very disappointed in fromsoftware. The integrity of the game was ruined to make the game easier for casuals who don't appreciate the game as much as fans who enjoy challenging games.
I am disappointed I missed before when they didn't care when people complained about the difficulty of their games and would never nerf any of the bosses. They are just kissing the asses of the casuals just to win a game of the year.
If they are no longer going to make good games, I will no longer purchase their games. I'll give them one more chance because they put out quality in the past, but one more game like Elden ring, and I am done with them for good.
00 Reply2.1K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. The problem with Elden Ring is that it is very easy to get completely stuck in the very beginning, and that happened to me. After many hours of trying to get unstuck to no avail, I said the hell with it and just quit. I have not started the game again after that bad experience.
To make it even worse, the game does not function properly on a PC or with a mouse and keyboard, and I am not buying a console to play one game.
I am sure it is a very nice game if you can get past the beginning, but I couldn't and got tired of trying.01 Reply- +1 y
You can get an Xbox controller and use it on PC. That’s how my friends are playing it.
The beginning is definitely a challenge. I had some help getting through a couple of the bosses. Look up some guides on YouTube, if you get a good spec, weapons and upgrades, it makes some of the more challenging parts a lot more manageable.
I haven’t really played much video games. Waiting on getting a new tv so I can play again. Because I haven’t had a TV, I’ve been playing my Nintendo switch a lot more, and I loved (and still do) Pokémon Legends Arceus. For console though I played a lot of ancestors the humankind Odyssey as well as Red dead redemption 2.
10 Replyi barely played it while i was with a couple friends
theo's so obsessed with it! he just kept saying "elden ring?" "elden ring!!!" until we played it
i made a character and tried to play for like 5 minutes until my other friend took over and he was actually good at it
i much prefer smash bros
00 Reply345 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. I have learned that it's a much cheaper hobby if you wait. So I rarely play games as they are released. It often years later I get to them. the only new game I bought this year is mario rabbids spark of hope, and I have yet found the time to break the plastics around the cover. So I can't say it's a good game. But I enjoyed the first.

+1 yElden Ring was a good choice. I beat it a few months ago and I just beat that Horizon Forbidden West game... already have the new God of War waiting so that will be a thing for me soon. My best guess is that I'm along with most gamers in choices.

+1 yGameplay was fun but once you’re done there’s nothing to do. No replaying it on harder difficulty isn’t something to do. The story is also very vague and incomprehensible I’d assume like typical JRPG but George R R Martin apparently helped to write it
00 Reply866 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. It was between elden ring and god of war ragnarok and I think elden ring took more risks and ended up with a more expansive experience. I completed all the achievements for elden ring in the first week, which was about 4 playthroughs. Meanwhile god of war is more of a cinematic game, so after the first playthrough, I was done with it.
So in the end; Well deserved.00 Reply- 714 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic.
+1 yI never played “Elden Ring”. I haven’t played a new video game in years. I got back into “Dying Light” this year. That’s definitely still one of my all time favorite games!
00 Reply From what I heard Elden Ring.. It was an overall better game play experience.. I haven't played either yet.. But I really wanna get Elden Ring..

Pokemon Violet is my Game of the Year I think.00 Reply
+1 yIt’s definitely a great game. I would rank it first but I didn’t play GoW Ragnarok yet so I don't know if I’ll change my mind.
00 ReplyI never played Elden Ring honestly can't get into those Dark Souls type games. I tried Demon Souls (PS3) and it was difficult. God of War Ragnarok I plan on getting after I finish God of War (2018) maybe Christmas time if I get money.

@ThoseCognacEyes it's hard to find games these days, that aren't just minimum viable product sort cash grabs.
- +1 y
Agreed! The last great game I played was RDR2. After that, I couldn’t find any game that I could completely lose track of time playing.
+1 yGod of war is fucking awesome but the amount of artistic ability and perfectionism that goes into the souls games is undeniable, and Elden ring was the greatest improvement I've ever seen from a video game company.
00 ReplyElden Ring was awesome, took me about 70 hours and some very late nights to platinum the game. Loved every minute of it.

00 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. Bridge. It's a card game for four players. It's not very popular these days.
01 ReplyElden Ring and other Fromsoft games are famous for being absurdly difficult, but fair in most cases. If you are a fan of that kind of trial and error, you might agree with this award.
00 Reply2.1K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. I had a feeling it was gonna win and I’d say I agree.
