Who's your favorite action movie star?

In terms of classic ~1980s action movies, probably Arnie. Predator and Terminator 1+2 are three of the best movies in the genre.

Tom Cruise is probably the last action star still standing who can draw in a huge crowd just by being in a movie.

Chris Pratt is good when he's playing more serious roles such as his character in Terminal List as opposed to everything else he's in where he's basically a parody of himself.

Keanu Reeves is pretty good too, but like Pratt he's such a "nice guy" in real life that he sometimes gets suckered into dumb movies too.

As far as actresses go... I think the only one who is consistently fun to watch in an action role is Karen Gillan. The problem with her is that she keeps getting put in dumb movies, and she's very much an underused side character in the better movies. Hollywood has trouble dealing with female action stars because on one hand the writers aren't talented enough to make good, believable or likeable characters anymore, and their solution is usually to just surround the woman with moronic male characters to make her stand out. Since streaming and low budget shows and movies became dominant, the quality and quantity of action scenes have also taken a dive, often resulting in hours of fluff with only a few minutes of action or suspense of any kind.

Matt Damon has done some great stuff.
I'm not a huge fan of Tom Cruise as a person, but he's a great action star.
I used to like Steven Seagal's action style back in the day.

There are some great female action stars, too. A few I can think of are Milla Jovovich, Lucy Liu, Kristianna Loken, ...

I don't watch a lot of movies but I liked the guy who played James Bond before they wanted to replace him. He's not anything unique in my eyes but he is the action hero I saw the most. I also think Shia Boulef is a very good actor but he is very very abusive to women so I do not like his personality.

When I was a kid I liked Mel Gibson and Bruce Willis ( he turned into a joke later lol )... Nowadays they don't make a lot of them... But I think it's probably Jason Statham? Well, I really enjoyed his latest film " wrath of man " and also some of his old stuff...
