What do you think of artists lip syncing?

Honestly for me it really depends on how often they do it.
if a singer lip syncs every performance they ever do, it’s safe to say they do it because they can’t sing live

but when an artist does an 80 show tour where they’re singing 20 songs every night, then it’s understandable to lip sync a few songs here and there. Especially if they have vocally demanding songs with high belts or notes. It’s unrealistic to expect them to sing every song live tbh. They have to preserve their voice somehow.

as long as an artist has already proven that they can sing live, then i don’t think them lipping a song or two takes away from their talent.

Even Michael Jackson lip synced majority of his performances lol. That doesn’t mean he’s untalented or anything. (although for being the legend he is, I wish he sang live more often tbh. He would lip sync entire tours 💀)

I'm not surprised they do it with all the live shows they do they'd probably loose their voice a lot and have to cancel shows if they didn't. I guess I wouldn't expect the quality of their voice to be that great live, especially if their tracks are heavily produced. However, if they also dance and do other theatrics, with all the live music it would probably be a fun show to attend.

As long as they sell their tickets at discounted prices. If they're unable to sing every night then they should perform less not put in a half arsed act. I'm paying to see them sing, not pretend to.

I don't care if it's on a TV show but if you're playing live you need to sing live. Otherwise people are going to think you can't sing. Plus if I pay to see live music I don't want to see some douchebags miming to a backing track.

They are cheating their fans and themselves. The problem is, people are so clueless about auto-tuned vocals and how mainstream music is made these days that they just don't care most of the time.

Justin Bieber did that when he came to India. People expected a lot from him. I lost respect for him after that. He puts in a lot of effort when he performs in the Western countries. I felt discriminated against.
