We don’t really live in an age in which honesty is truly valued. What would be the point of holding people accountable? Even if there were some crystal ball app on your phone that could tell you what is an absolute lie, the societal responses wouldn’t change one bit. Drumpf famously said he could shoot someone in the head on Park Avenue and he wouldn’t lose a single vote. Or something of the like. He’s not wrong but the leftists showed their colors by publicly condemning him and refusing to acknowledge that they are EXACTLY as mindlessly committed to THEIR candidates as anyone on the right. #MeToo was in full swing when several women came out with allegations against Joe Biden and the chants of “Believe All Women” ended IMMEDIATELY. Not another chirp because it was more important to elect THEIR rapist than it was to support victims of sexual harassment and assault.
Whether or not we’re offended by a public figure’s lies has more to do with their position as compared to our own, rather than honesty or the lack thereof.
