Liam and Miley were married and he cheated on her with several different women.

Mileys new song “Flowers” is about him. And now apparently Liam is suing Miley for defamation because he’s lost fans and almost lost a role in a series since it’s came out

Honestly, I thought defamation of character only applied to when someone is lying on your name. (And to be fair, she didn’t mention his name in the song. So legally can he even prove that the song is about him?) but she’s not lying, he’s really a cheater. So dude did it to himself. If you don’t want to lose fans and have the public see you as a piece of shit then don’t be a piece of shit 🤷‍♂️

Liam Hemsworth has been dignified about the end of the relationship and didn't go on the attack like she did just to sell his career.

This is common for narcissistic women to trash their exs to anyone who will listen and as time goes on Miley will "reveal" more and more scandalous things about what a bad guy Liam is and how bad he supposedly treated her, he's supposed to be doing worse without her not better Sounds like Liam Helmworth ended the relationship because Miley is too much work with her substance abuse problems, mental health issues and behavioural problems. He seems a very grounded down to earth guy who doesn't want drama and drama is what miley is all about. He's not the first guy to be in a serious long term relationship and realise that he can't possibly marry her and have kids with her or it will be a train wreck.

Thing about narcissistic women is usually everything they trash their exs about is usually whats true about them. Miley is not the victim Helmsworth is. Helmsworth is handsome athletic charming guy who's career is taking off dating a younger hotter 25 year old model that he's very happy with and doesn't give him drama and has plenty of other dating options that's what's bugging Miley. Doesn't matter I'd he can win the court case but like Johnny Depp dealing with Amber what matters is that he proves she's a lying hoe

If she has infallible proof, then he deserves what he gets. After all, you'd think he would be bright enough to figure out, marrying a singer could land you in one of her songs, if you're being a dog.

If I were her, just claim freedom of speech! I'm not a Miley Cyrus fan at all, but you can't sue someone for expressing how you feel in a song about the person, after you pissed them off. If it was warranted, then perhaps he should take his punishment like a man, instead of lashing out like a little boy.

If he wins, freedom of expression and speech is dead in Hollywood, and no one will ever write another break-up song again.

I didn't even know he cheated and even when this song came out and everyone said that I was like but what? It doesn't even say that in the lyrics or am I missing something? Lol
Anyways if he cheated, all her other songs about him make sense now

If he really cheated on her then she doesn't deserve to be sued! An artist shows himself/herself or his/her feelings through their art. In such case what Miley Cyrus did is not wrong, she is an artist and she releases her emotions in form of art. But that is all when it is indeed true that he was cheating.

Yeah, I was totally unaware of this news. But if Liam really is a cheater like she says, then he is trash. But also at the same time, these women like her and Taylor Swift need to be careful about always trying to write songs about some guy breaking their heart. I'm not saying they can't express their pain or anything, but they are also trying to make money off of their pain too if they can get a hit single from it.

And anyway, sometimes it's just better to walk away from a bad relationship in silence than to make a melody about it. Write about it in your diary and leave it right there.

Lol he can sue her but who gives af at this point. It’s still out there and it just makes him look worse in my opinion. So what if she can't perform it in public or has to pay a fine. Mmm yes and no. Was is fear or right of him to cheat? No, no it was not. Is it ok to get mad about it? Yes, yes it is. But is it ok to publicly humiliate someone for their mistakes? No, it never is. Sometimes things like this sticks around for a long time and can take a life of its own. And people do sometimes change and learn from their mistakes. But get "fucked" over by past events and will sometimes struggle so much that they "lose" so much of their life to it. So no it's not fair even if he was an asshole for cheating.

If there's enough evidence to prove it's about him, and it damages him then yes he can. It doesn't have to mention his name specifically. The only cases where it can be insulting and not libelous are if it was done in satire. Hustler Magazine v. Falwell is a great explanation as well as Trump's attempt to sue Bill Maher. Hustler's article regarding Falwell and Maher claiming that Trump was the love child of his mother and an orange-haired orangutan were both insulting, extremely. Yet they were satire and not meant to be taken seriously. If Miley's song "Flowers" is meant to be taken seriously and Liam can prove it is about him, then he has a case since it has harmed him.

I'd agree with most of what you say but I don't think fairness or unfairness comes into it. Most countries allow the defense of truth in defamation and I think the US is even more difficult to win a defamation case. It would seem difficult for Liam to win.
